Old Sig/ HH kits
Hey all not cox related but I have in my posession 2 kits that I know very little about. The first is a SIG Ryan STA special that I was given around 1992 and it was to complex for me at the time so it has sat in the box since that time. The plans are from 1970/1971 and designed by Maxey Hester. Looks like it csn be set up for control line or RC. It has a 72" wingspan. That would be one huge CL plane.
The other kit is a Hobby Hangar Gee Bee Z. Designed by Adrian Page. I bought it new in 1999 along with the decal kit and radial kit.
So, I was just wondering if anyone has any info on these kits or if anyone has built one. The Ryan still looks daunting even after 20 years of experience.
Thanks!

That STA is nice! I remember dreaming about that model when I was a kid, before I started dreaming of Raquel Welch! If its in good shape it would bring a premium on eBay. Its definitely a builders kit! I saw a 1:1 STA years ago at Oshkosh with the same pretty red/white paint. The other I'm clueless, sorry.

I wasn't expecting that! now how am I supposed to tell my wife this is an all business forum?
I plan on keeping both kits they are MIB and properly stored. I was just curious if others have built them or have any knowledge of their existence. Thanks for the reply Mark! Even though it was a tad cheeky.......

Re: Old Sig/ HH kits
Lol, I guess I was thinking early seventies, dreaming, somehow the thought of 'Raquel' Welch popped in my head, goggled to check spelling, saw photo and BAM had to post it...I guess old Ryans will do that to me, as they're both things of beauty.
Re: Old Sig/ HH kits
I think it's because of the beautiful curves of the shapely Menasco powered Ryan, and the direct correlation to the natural beauty of the human form. Epitomized by Raquel, of course.
I have the Sig Ryan kit and it's a beauty too, just the ticket for a guy that likes to build.
