What's the secret of "SEARCH" Empty What's the secret of "SEARCH"

I don't understand this "search" function very well in the left column. It doesn't seem to find much on straight forward or much used forum terms or words. Maybe it's me not understanding some criteria of the search function?

Some examples I typed in recently:

"OS" - no topics or posts found
"max" - idem
"dragonfly" - works OK
"babe" - works OK
"cox" - no topics or posts found!!!???
"bee" - idem

Am I missing something? or do I need a green card to use SEARCH?

Don't use the "inside" search, select "Google" to search using Google instead. From there you can refine the search further.

I have found that if you can remember the exact topic name.. then the inside search seems to work. Getting the first word (or two..) correct, also helps. Most times I use the inside search when I have been successful finding the same topic previously when using it. My muffler thread is hard to find.. unless I search "A cheap" (A cheap sport muffler) which is the title of the thread.. rather than just searching "muffler". The CEF flyer (for printing-out and posting around your locale..) must be searched with the keyword; Support... (the first word in the thread's title) or you won't find it.
