Thanks Ian. David Owen of Owen Engines is our local go-to man on Taipans since the sad demise of Ron Chernich. I've sent him off a description & picture so hopefully he can fill in a few gaps.
Shame about the anodizing. I now have four engines with red anodized cylinder muffs which need attention so I might be able to get them done as a lot a bit cheaper. I've read up about home anodizing but I don't think I'd bother trying it myself.
