Re: I've become a collector (Just crept up on me!)
yep, I've seen a couple of them, one was a early Hot Wheels Thunderbird. I do think it would be very easy to convert a larger 1/32 or 1/24 scale slot car to gas power as the early slot cars had metal chassis and gears already installed.
Re: I've become a collector (Just crept up on me!)
Mark thereeople out there that do those conversions.
I am sure you already know but Leo Squires of the stoneway group does that.

That first photo of the Mustang was actually a Aurora Thunder-Jet, since Aurora was left with a warehouse full of t-jett chassis after the intro of the AFX Chassis.
The last ten years or so, 'big' kids have launched a cottage industry of aftermarket parts to make the little cars handle more like a real car and less of a magnet car.

Ok, back to 1/2a's...the last several years I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of collecting engine information, ads, engine review, photos, etc. and adding to my web site. As I've got about all the engines I need/want, other then maybe a '64 Fox .07 (with the cooling fins on case) or maybe a FAI Fox, or maybe a.......
