Query:
Hello, someone has tried to control the speed of this engine any device ?,'m thinking ?, do some guillotine system that is adjustable by a servo and thereby controlling the speed or acceleration.
Someone must have developed something?
Thank you.

Mauricio: Isn't there a muffler/throttle for the .15 engine? I bought a combo for a .049 engine (?), but it was too large. I'll see if I have a picture.

There was a previous post. I'll edit after I find it and add the link to it with the dimensions.

The cylinders bottom flange doesnt allow you to simply slip over a throttle sleeve.
The trick around that is to find tubing the same OD of the cylinder cut it in half
and then slip over the next size up in tubing that will slip past the cylinders bottom
flange. Here is one of mine as described.

They work so well I put one on my Olympus 15

Of course if your willing you can buy a Medallion .15 that has a exhaust throttle
and swap out the top end. Here is one of my Sportsman's with a slide throttle.
The up swing is all the goo is directed out one side of the engine.

Excellent photos in this topic - I do like the Sportsmen and the Olympics - and, again, the ability to mix and match Cox parts to achieve a flyable engine.

I also notice that a few of these have glow plug conversions - a pukka head can be expensive and hard to obtain.

Pukka
In UK slang, it can mean "genuine" or simply "very good".

As another option could add a carb like I did with my modified rear induction 1/2A
I simply used some rubber hose to connect things together non destructive and
allows the engine to return to its original state.
Another option...
With the TD .010 I file down the cylinders sleeve footing allowing
a easy slip on exhaust throttle, could do that with the .15

Thank you all for the information. What a beautiful collection of engines!
I'll finally see as resolve, you may place a carburetor air intake of the engine, as you indicated in your engine photo!
Thank you! Mauricio.-

Eric, how are you?!, Well, I initially doing tests to see that result throws. I had this carburetor and place it on a trial basis.
I made some modifications to the engine support so that the carburetor is appreciated also place a command to the throttle, and also remove the needle from the original carburetor O.S. and place a screw cap. Tomorrow I'll do some walking tests to see how it works.
Also this modified spark plug, is an original candle that burned down, and was modified to accommodate a plug standart in this case is a K & B.
Friend, will soon see how it works !!!, interesting!...Mauricio.-

Other questions:

Which is ideal for this engine propeller?
That fuel recommended for best performance?
What is the opinion of you on the design of this engine?

Thank you, Mauricio.-

I think the original propeller used in the Commanche application was a 6X6, you probably won't find one of those easily. I would suggest you start with a 7x3 and go no more than an 8x4, you should find the best prop for your application in that range.

Since it's a Cox I would imagine the Nitro content could go pretty high. Wouldn't go less than 15%.

I don't know the thread pitch.

Ron Hello !, thanks for your reply, I am using a 7 x 5 and throws a 12000 rpm. I think it's healthy for the engine, which believes you?
The fuel I use is 18% castor and 25% nitromethane, methyl alcohol moiety.
With respect to the thread, where it could find? Thank you!..Mauricio.-
