Sportsman .15
Just picked up a sportsman .15 from eBay, what size prop should this thing spin?

You can run anything from a 7x4 to a 9x4 and most in between on that engine.

Thank you. This thing likes to start backwards, what's the best way to avoid that?

Cox did make a spring starter for this engine. The only issue is they are relatively hard to find. This would most likely solve your starting backward issue. The other way would be to use an electric starter. I usually would say no to that on a Cox, but this it a big enough engine where it could handle it.

Matt beat me to it.
Add a starter spring. This will help to get it going the right way.

Try starting it to the right. It may fire off in the correct direction.

Re: Sportsman .15
With my 09 rc it needs the briefest of bizzt from the starter and she's away.
Non of that 'APC finger' or backwards running.
See my first 09 cox utube which shows in graphic gory detail why OS say
'use a starter not your finger' in their manuals
these days.
