I got this Cox RC PT-19. Couldn't pass it up
Was wondering if anyone had any history or experience with this. I've never seen one before

Very cool. Would you be interested in selling or trading it?

First of all... WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!!!
I can't speak to the value of the model for resale, but a friend and I flew two of these back in the late 1980's. They're excellent flyers, though tend to come out the box a little tail heavy. Neal relocated his radio gear as far forward as he could and STILL needed some ballast up in the nose to keep the PT from snapping at low speeds.
I replaced my PT's .049 with a Medallion .09 R/C with a throttle band. This took care of the tail-heaviness, AND forced Neal into putting a TEE DEE on his.
I still have mine, and intend to get it going eventually with it's Medallion .09. I don't think they were a long-run, so you may be able to get a deal in selling it...or have a BUNCH of fun flying it.

Re: Cox RC PT-19
Thanks for the responses I have been flying and running cox products for nearly fifty years. My first was a p-40
I would love to fly this, but this model seems to be as rare as hens teeth I don't think I could bring myself to risk ruining it by trying to fly it
I'm not really a collector, that being said, this probably deserves a better home than with me

It would not be that hard to build you one from scratch since you have a profile to go by , and sell the other ?! getback

Rare? Maybe, but to whom? There are not many folks that even know about such things and even fewer using them.
You only live once...
If the excitement to fly it is less than overwhelming then sell it for stuff you can use. Kim can always show us one in action.

True All That!!!! Just think how many have succumbed to garage/house fires, nesting rodents, or dumpster-dunking ex spouses...
Just be a good idea to stick one of Bernie or Matt's hopped-up little monsters or a Tee Dee in it to make it go....

Cox PT-19 RC
Ah, memories! I had one back in the late 80's. Ended up too heavy at 28 ounces with stock Cox/Sanwa radio. My advice, stay with the stock Dragonfly/Ranger engine, but go micro radio gear-2.4 ghz receiver, so adding weight up front likely. Pushrods will need to be longer because you will have servos, batteries and radio moved as far forward as possible. Low wing means tip stalls likely, so be careful to not pull up too suddenly. Mine tip stalled and rolled after an exciting loop--Crash!! I still have the engine, so someday if I ever come across one, I'd love to make one fly better. The stock wheels weigh a lot, I replaced mine with modern lighter ones. All of this losing weight forward of the CG will mean a tail heavy bird, so adding lead weight behind the firewall a must. Still such a pretty plane, I wish someone would make a modern balsa or foam equivalent (with 36" to 39" wingspan).
