The Tee Pee .099 I won. I thought it would have went for more but the seller has a strange payment procedure.
Missed out on both Brice engines I thought I bid enough at the last second but lost out on both. Next time

They're so cool! I always marvel at them. I particularly like the Brice models.. because they look lighter in weight. Almost looks like composite gear cases.. and spacers? It appears that the Brice engines are rotary-valve induction and the Thompson uses reed-valves?

Re: Some things on eBay lately that got away
I bought the plans that are listed in eBay for making a twin Cox .049, which looks close to some of your photos.
The problem I found was the gears were pretty expensive and I have put off getting into a project like this til I have some more disposable income.

What engine is in that TD-1? I'm in love with that plane. Our club member James "Duck" Duckworth has several of them in his museum. I told him I want to fly one, but he just smiled and moved on to the next treasure. You guys should see that place, built from a renovated garage and two stories dedicated to preserving his collection. He builds the most incredible rubber powered paper planes.
Here is his paper B-24 he just finished:

I probably could have worded that better. I took the photo, not the plane.

Re: Some things on eBay lately that got away
I remember drooling over a TD-1 in a hobby shop back in the fifties. It was $19.95 when many were making $1.00/hr. I couldn't afford it then or now.
Last I heard, the plastic they were made from became brittle over time. If you land one, I would consider using it as a display item.
George
Edit: Forgot to mention, there were no product engines at that time...the TD-1 was powered by a Space Bug.

All these are from the same seller and ended within minutes of each other. He's selling his collection, I just sat back and watched, WOW.

That is OUTSTANDING! Lots of good NIB stuff, at some nice tall prices! My wife wanted to know if I have anything like those to sell, I said no, other than my real ranger XLT 4X4 and its worth less than the MODEL F150 sold for!!

Re: Some things on eBay lately that got away
I have been to 3 swap meets this past year seeing similar items NIB as shown which wouldn't fetch 1/3 of those selling prices. I suppose the world is full of those that suffer from the I gotta have it disease. This Sunday is the last swap meet of the year and I'm sure I will see more. Ebay makes it possible to reach items out to those whom aren't in touch with this stuff. A flying acquaintance of mine recently passed away. His entire collection of engines and kits went to a auction 2 weeks ago. Many of the powersellers on Ebay were present. They were buying lots for $1000 a lot without even knowing what was in them. The auction lasted 4 hours and everything went. The sad reality is that while all of it sold, it was selling in huge lots with some having unknown goods inside. Essentially the stuff was given away. I suppose for the family it makes it easier that way due to the lengthy time it would take to sell items individually. It just seems heartbreaking that someone will make a fortune on another misfortune.

Re: Some things on eBay lately that got away
This one didn't get away:
$26 BIN with free shipping. My typical and latest buy, but the best of both worlds. Cox engine and Enya parts. Picture doesn't show it but the engine is pretty nasty, right down my alley. Starter spring is out of shape and will be the first thing to go, I never use them anyway. All the other items especially the glow plugs will be appreciated.
Bob
Edit add... Loaded another of the sellers pictures. Doesn't look too bad after all:

The Fox backplate gasket is for a Fox .35 stunt in case you didn't know. The Fox needle is the pressed in spraybar which was used in the steelfin Fox .15. It won't work in the Rocket .15.
