The "Eagles" Glenn Frey has died
Very sad news. The Eagles were a heavy influence on me; both musically and spiritually.

Yeah, we're loosing them all. All going too young .
We just lost Dale Griffin, drummer and founder of Mott the Hoople and Mic Gillette from Tower of Power.

Can only hope that they're all playing in that "big band in the sky".. and one day we'll all be able to see them in concert again.
Re: The "Eagles" Glenn Frey has died
I was never much into Bowie, never heard of Mott the Hoople or Mic Gillette, but there's Eagles tunes in my head that will never fade.
Makes you want to go stand on this corner and keep an eye out for that girl in the flat-bed Ford.
Hang on, there she is!!
Their songs just have so much imagery that brings the lyrics to life. Sadly missed indeed.

That Sucks to see all the good talent leaving us when just truly matured after all the prime time and hard work going into becoming famous . The Eagles were a great group and Glenn made it . getback

Re: The "Eagles" Glenn Frey has died
The Eagles were my 'stepping stone group'...coming along at the same time that Creedence Clearwater Revival was coming apart at the seams. (I've never been good at identifying with more than one group at a time) Their styles weren't similar, except for the way they could fit a guy's life...making you sit there and nod, "Yeah...been there."
So, God Speed ole Buddy.

Didn't know Dale Griffin died. Those guys are all in their or heading into the 70's really quickly. Ian Gillan is 70. Never thought of these guys as ever out of their 20's.

I messed around with a late Eagles cover that Glenn had a hand in writing, but which Don Henley co-wrote and sang lead.
It's a work in progress.. and I'm no "Henley".. but I wanted to post it anyway. All the vocals and instrumentation are my own. Each part was done separately and rough-mixed using my pro-tools recording software.

Thanks very much. Both my wife and I were in shock when we heard the news about his passing. Last night we both sang/harmonized to "Take it Easy". Ironically; during the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" tour, we attended the same concert at "Great Woods" in Mansfield, MA before we even knew each other.
