Greg,

Where is the package coming from?

5 Weeks from the US to Australia isn't uncommon, sometimes they get hung up in customs, also tracking usually only works in CONUS and once it leaves the US it's up in the air.

CONUS = CONtinental USA

Same as fortysomething lower states, that is USA excluding Hawaii, I think Alaska and possibly other places too.

Have you already paid for the engine?

As for powering your glider, I am not trying to tempt you to the dark side anymore Wink but a good-running .049 used to be "adequate". Babe bees with tank extenders were widely used in Finland (that's why most of them still have the Kavan kit installed), but if you have a Golden Bee or a Black Widow or some other with a long tank, it should bee enough. It won't be fast, but hey that's why you have the long tank Smile

Checking the feedback for the last 6 months, every 049 engine he had listed (and sold) has had this in the listing description:

" I'm sorry but due to issues I will not ship out of the country, or Puerto Rico. "

So, I'm not sure he would even ship it, but it seems like he'd return your money if he did not ship it.

It's really important with ebay that you make a reasonable effort to contact the seller if there's a problem. If they still won't answer you then you should get ebay involved by opening a case against the seller. This means that ebay messages him and asks him to sort out the situation. They will threaten to ban him or remove his reputation points. I figure if he has 100% + feedback he wouldn't want to risk that. It's also really important to make sure they will ship overseas before you bid. Even if they say they don't, you can contact them and ask for an exception. I've bought lots of things that were not offering overseas shipping, but usually the seller happy to ship to Australia because it's safe. Some don't. As long as you make arrangements early and keep a record of your messages back and forth, ebay will be on your side.

Well that's a fine looking engine Greg. Glad it made it out here. I have found that USPS tracking is hardly worth it. Rarely will it continue once the parcel has reached the US airport it flies out from. I always specify First Class shipping when it's available. It's the cheapest and in most cases, the quickest.

Thats great news, and am glad you received it. I have just a quick question for you though. In the other thread, you posted a few more pictures of the engine. Is it just me this early in the morning, or is the head drilled and tapped for a standard glow plug. Regardless, it is one nice looking engine.

Hey, that's great! I'm so glad you finally received your engine. I know the shipping time from the US to AUS is painfully long, especially when the package is something you really, really want! Now, you should see if you can edit the title of this post to indicate that freefaller is not a fraud, but a victim of slow, painfully slow international shipping. Tired w/ Coffee Read

I'm glad you got your engine! As we seen with the Traveling Prop, it takes quite some time for packages to move from country to country. You have to give things some extra time, but just be careful not to let your 45 day limit pass without filing a claim if things go sour.

Anyway, now that this have been resolved, we could either change the title or I can just delete the thread.
