Tach Race Entry Check-In
Hey Guys,
If you're planning on sending an engine (or engines) for Tach Race 2012, could you please check in here, with the number of engines you plan on sending, so that I can get a head-count on what to expect? If you don't mind, even if you've told me that you ARE going to send an entry, please reaffirm it here to let me get an accurate number?
Thanks! Getting it together ! Kim

Re: Tach Race Entry Check-In
Cool beans! Now I'm really thinking about rolling the dice and removing one headgasket! I think Paul Gibeault is gonna send in a unlimited engine as well!
Re: Tach Race Entry Check-In
Ok, I can't get my little racer to run steadily so I will be sending a tamer engine, my "Crazy Bee". It's not a winner but at least the darn thing runs
Xena will be submitting her "Pink Panther", also for the "unlimited" class.
Furthermore, I willl send some venturi, crankcase and head gaskets as well as some spraybar seals, Mylar reeds and glow heads for you to use if any engine (from any participant) needs a quick fix.
Let me know if you need our universal test stand for Cox engines.
Those items, as well as the props and submitted engines are yours to keep (auction them off to pay your expenses?).

Got it! Thanks so much Bernie and Xena ! I've got several of your engine test stands, so don't want you giving away any more of your great stuff than necesary!
The confirmed count at this point is 10 with a possible 2 more. Starting to get exciting !

Bernie,
If that pretty little gem of your turns out to be the fire breathing dragon we expect will you make copies, or at least the ingredients, available to those of us that dwell on the lower end of the tach scale? By the way, that is a super looking engine.
Bob

How does the tubing seal on the NV do? I tried that once without much luck.

Re: Tach Race Entry Check-In
I only got this one to turn 19k with a 5x3 prop so don't count on it being a winner lol.
Sure, I can always make more of them.
The silicone tubing was an afterthought in the office this morning as I became frustrated with the NV not holding it's setting. Will it work? Dunno, have not tried it.

Re: Tach Race Entry Check-In
The problem was you had to turn the needle an initial 3/4 of a turn to get the tubing to turn with the needle, so it would fluctuate a lot.
Re: Tach Race Entry Check-In
Kim,
If I'm not too late, I'd like to enter an engine.
Not sure what class to enter it in, so I'll let you decide if that's ok.
I'll include a description of what modifications were made.
Regards,
Bob

Re: Tach Race Entry Check-In
Kim plans to test engines, Saturday Jan. 7th, so hopefully nobody waits until the last minute to send them.
I would think sometime after the first would be good? Kim?
Mark
P.S.
Bernie, i just noticed your engine....nice!

Sure Bob,
Send it on! As long as I can get everybody's entry in the first week of January, I should be OK. I've already gotten another volunteer who wants in on the fun, and she'll be in charge of cataloging everyone's entries.
Yes, any info on your engine is appreciated.
Later!

Yeah Mark,
I figure if everybody gets in here the first week of January, we ought to be good. If the numbers outrun the amount of daylight, I plan to divide the runs according to class, into the next day...so each bunch will have the same conditions.
That's the plan anyway!
AND Ditto on the photo of Bernie's Engine....Screen Saver Photo !
