Re: MK-17 diesel *sold*
I bought a NIB one of these from Ed Carlson a few years ago at a very reasonable price. I think he still has them.
Most of the ones I see still have nice red anodizing. For some reason, the red seems to be rubbing off mine. Haven't seen that happen before. I haven't tried to run it. I have a few other diesels to play with & don't really intend to fly with any, so I'm keeping this one un-run for now.

Re: MK-17 diesel *sold*
In case someone was wondering how they handle, I have three MK-17 diesels, all are excellent runners.
The only problem I had was needing to REALLY tighten plastic props because of the prop washer (drive plate) construction. I now add a sandpaper washer behind the prop on plastic props for grip. Wood props appear to work OK.
It comes with two venturis. Both worked fine for me. I prefer the smaller one for increased fuel draw. The engine is easy handling and since it is rear intake, a good engine for beginners (with the needle away from the prop).
Mine are strictly for CL flying but I have read that some folks have successfully added throttles for RC use.

Re: MK-17 diesel *sold*
I had fun with it, but fuel is hard to get for me. Granted glow fuel is just as hard to get, but this was my only diesel.
I am glad it will be going to someone who knows how to use it best. (Any my wife is shocked I sold an engine!)
I shipped it this morning. I was not given an expected lead time.

Re: MK-17 diesel *sold*
i just found a way to make my fuel 40% cheaper
there is a shop that sells 1 liter of ether for 15 (euro)
but shipping has to go over it
so i will have some fun with the engine
maybe i will rebuild it to fit on a car
