Haven't been on for awhile
I seem to be having problems with my Mac and this website. Not sure why it won't load most of the time. Just wanted to let you all know why I haven't been on much.

Did you try clearing your cookies? https://www.coxengineforum.com/?mode=delete_cookies
Re: Haven't been on for awhile
I have only ever used Mac & I've never had any issues with this forum. Are you using Safari? If so, try "Reset Safari". It will delete all cookies and your browser history, so be prepared to log in to any sites you subscribe to, (like this one).WingingIt74 wrote:I seem to be having problems with my Mac and this website. Also, it's a good idea to occasionally "Verify/Repair Permissions" in Disk Utilities.

Explain your problems. Formatting issues? Slow loading? What?
This is what the forum looks like on Internet Explorer 5.2, the last edition they made for Mac LOL! This goes back to 2003! The forum still loads, there are formatting issues but you can still find and read posts. I hope your problems aren't anything like this!

"repair permissions" is part of my Mac maintenance, done about every 6 months. Its odd its only this site, when Safari acts up for me a cleaning and reboot solves the problems.
Are you running the latest updates.

Re: Haven't been on for awhile
Running as updated as I can with OS 10.5.8. Safari is version 5.0.6. It's getting old but very few websites cause me any grief.

Re: Haven't been on for awhile
I can get on with my office Mac... go figure... I've tried quite a bit on the MBP and it still won't come up. Even my service provider couldn't figure it out. Not sure what to do, I'll ask my Mac guy. It's been months since I could be on at home, but other websites work fine.
Re: Haven't been on for awhile
I disabled the DNS prefetching and that seems to work, or at least when I am linked to my MBP remotely.
Mac OS X steps to disable DNS prefetching
Open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities).
Execute the Terminal command below to disable DNS prefetching:
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false
Quit Safari, then open it again and test for the issue.

Re: Haven't been on for awhile
Still not working, going to switch providers, cheaper and faster anyway.
Re: Haven't been on for awhile
Got my provider switched to Charter. More then doubled my speed, cheaper and I can log into CEF now

I'll be selling some spare engines on eBay here soon, so keep your eyes open. I'll post some links later, just need to thin the heard a little
