Cox Engine of The Month
051 Cylinder and piston question

051 Cylinder and piston question
We recently acquired what was supposed to be a used Dragonfly. It had a regular muffler instead of the throttle/muffler version.
The cylinder and piston is .051 size (one score). The cylinder looks like a "Surestart" one (2 thin exhaust slits per side) but inside only has one large port per side. From which engine is this set?

Re: 051 Cylinder and piston question
That's a good question because I have one of those cylinder sets too and haven't been able to positively ID it. "scratches head"
At first I though it could be off of the rare NFFS Medallion .051 but after doing some research I determined that it wasn't so and it's defently not a killer bee "Shrugs" (tha Bandit is puzzled)

I got a NIP .049 to .051 conversion cylinder/piston set at a LHS years ago and it looked like what you are describing. I thought nothing about it at the time. Bernie did the engine make it to your location yet?

Yes, that is how we found the cylinder
Re: 051 Cylinder and piston question
Here is another strange one, it was on a NIB Black Widow I bought from a fellow on Stunthanger a few years ago.
Manufacturing defect maybe.

I believe that BW piston was special made for a young lady named Dorothy from Kansas.

Lol, it might of been the wizard? I gotta think somebody did that and not a defect?
