Who else hoarded light bulbs?
Good thing I bought them when I did, I was paying $1.09 and $1.59 for each pack of these same 100's at Menards about a year ago. Now they want $10 for just 1 pack!
They were asking $8.99 for packs of 75s and I think $4.99 for 40s and 60s! These are all Sylvania lamps just some are re-branded.
Fleet Farm was selling packs of GE 60s for $1.80 about a week or so ago so I picked up several more packs.

Re: Who else hoarded light bulbs?
We bought up a couple boxes worth of 75's and 100's a few years ago not realizing we didn't use 100 watt bulbs anywhere in the house.
Re: Who else hoarded light bulbs?
I've got enough 40/60/75/100 watt incandescent bulbs to last the next 15 years. No mercury in our house...

Re: Who else hoarded light bulbs?
GE developed a high efficiency gas- filled incandescent... It is apparently killed off as it only was a slight improvement over regular incandescent light bulbs, and not as efficient as cfl or led technologies.
I am switching over to led for everything here. It is slow going since it is expensive. I have a lot of CFL bulbs that seem to last forever if they survive the first few weeks. Led bulbs are much more reliable.

Excellent pun Jason!!!!! I stocked up on a couple 12-packs of 60w standard incand. lamps a year or so ago when I heard they would eventually become unavailable. They're actually for a modeling purpose. I have a project planned to build an insulated paint booth/drying (curing) enclosure for my models.. that can be located up high on an inside wall of my outdoor shed. Chemical fumes of any sort will give my wife a migraine in very short order.. I figure that this Winter.. I can run a small electric heater out in the shed before it's time to paint, then after I apply the paint.. the model will be placed in the enclosure for curing. The floor of the enclosure will be a raised-up grate with a series (probably 5-6) of standard lamp sockets in a chamber below, to provide heat.. along with a small circulator-fan, remote thermometer and adjustable vent. It's my only option to be able to paint in cold weather.
