I can't believe the detail level of some of these planes! I think everybody is a winner at this point, these are all very cool looking planes.

Great group of planes. I couldn't even be loyal to mine, I had to vote for anohter, just because it looked like the best "speed plane". Nice job guys!

Re: Reed Speed--Best Model Poll
There are 16 entries for this competition.
The involvement leading to these photographs is much, much more than, say, my taking a picture of one of many engines after "posing" it.
They are all outstanding from many different points of view and I, in usual fashion, have found it difficult to make my selection.
Because there are so many entries compared to "voters" or forum members who do vote - I have a feeling that a few individuals may receive a no vote.
I do hope that this is not the case as I think everyone is to be congratulated on their achievement in making a plane from scratch to be ready for the competition.
You should all be proud of the models you have produced - from the hastily put together the the finely detailed creations.
The topics from this competition have made for very interesting reading.
Thank you all.

Re: Reed Speed--Best Model Poll
I finally voted. Ugh, that was tough.
Not a dud in the lot.
Every plane is a beauty, and their builders
should be proud.
Hats off to you guys.

Re: Reed Speed--Best Model Poll
Yeah, I mentioned it in the official video thread, that's one of the coolest 1/2A scale Racing planes ever. Also numbers 2, 3, 5, 7, 12, and 13 are all examples of beautiful craftsmanship and imagination. Scratch that, it's not fair to the rest.. except for mine with no freakin' paint. Nice work by everyone.

Re: Reed Speed--Best Model Poll
Great job Roddie
It is a beautiful plane. One of the best I have ever seen.
Now I also want to join in the fun. I will have to start planning for the next one. I hope there will be a next one.

Re: Reed Speed--Best Model Poll
My friends! A heartfelt THANK YOU!! I had a VERY busy weekend with the band, and hadn't had much time for the forum. What a nice way to wake up this morning!
I mentioned to Eric (Getback) yesterday on the discussion thread, that I'd saved all the photos of ALL contestants builds that they'd posted.. and put them in separate subfolders on my PC. Eric and I (I think..) had the only two models with a full-span hinged elevator.. and was wondering if his control-throws might have been too sensitive. Eric's model was a SCREAMER and if he'd gotten a full-flight in.. it would've been a force to be reckoned with!
This contest has been a LOT of fun, and there's been some mention of doing it again later on this year. I would suggest sometime on/around Labor Day or mid-September. As a matter of fact, it would be a blast to add another element... A balloon-bust! After the 10th lap; try to pop as many of 4 equally-spaced balloons as possible, before running out of fuel!
