Which props optimized for which .020?

Which props optimized for which .020?
Bernie sells the 4.5 x 2 two bladed and 3.125 x 2.5 three bladed props for the .020 engines. Cox obviously chose these sizes as optimimum for the general operating charachteristics of their .020 engines, but which are optimized for the PeeWee and which are for the TD?

Re: Which props optimized for which .020?
Good question.
I have only ever seen the 3 blade used on the Pee Wee and the 2 blade on the TD.
I can say for certain the 3 blade makes the Pee Wee scream so on a TD it may actually break it.
On the Pee Wee you can use either.
Just my thoughts.

Re: Which props optimized for which .020?
Well, yesterday I had some free time, so I did the test runs for three PeeWee engines I needed to get in flying trim. One for September Fury, one for the Min-Win, and one for another project. Using the two bladed props, I was only averaging about 16K on them. Enough to get the planes in the air, but a lot less than I was hoping for. So, I swapped out the two bladed props for three bladed ones, and the average RPM jumped to about 21-22K. I didn't expect that big a jump, but I'll take it.

APC makes the 4.2 x 2 and the 4.2 x 4. I would think the 4 pitch would be a bit much considering I use that on a TD for 1/2A combat. I do however feel it would yield similar results to what you were already achieving provided it doesn't overheat and sag the engine. These props could also be trimmed down for max performance. Ken
