Re: Reed Speed Roll Call!
No. Ten official laps per flight. Do as many flights as you need to to find out where your planes "sweet spot" is during the run and pm me your best one.Mark Boesen wrote:quick question...so it's ten laps, take off level out 4-5 ft. off deck after lap or two signal timer to start, time starts as you come around in front of camera and marker. After 10 laps can you make note of time and then do another ten on same flight?

What is max height, before disqualifying?

Re: Reed Speed Roll Call!
I would say keep it as close to shoulder height as possible. I don't want to set a max height because then everyone will try to fly just below that and it will be tough to judge by video. Let's just have a gentleman's agreement to to fly shoulder height, straight and level as best you can.Mark Boesen wrote:...I don't know how long my engines gonna last

Re: Reed Speed Roll Call!
If you have ever flown say a 4 sec per lap plane above 45 degrees you will find out very quickly how dizzy you can become. Now imagine doing that with a 2-3 sec plane...
You will want to fly shoulder height.

Re: Reed Speed Roll Call!
A lap flown at 45 degrees is a lot smaller circle (ie. quicker) then one flown 4-5' off deck.

Re: Reed Speed Roll Call!
After my son flew about a minute of 2.5 second laps Saturday he said " that's the first time I've ever gotten dizzy doing this".

Re: Reed Speed Roll Call!
Photos need to be posted one week from today. Am I going to be the only competitor? That's a lot of great prizes for me...

Jim's asking $39.95+ shipping, for autographed photos of either his Super Corsair or Miss Ashley. Or $59.95 for both.

Sorry I posted the reminder on the wrong thread. Post a photo of the completed model on this thread so the photos can be compiled into a poll at the end:

Feel free to use a dummy prop and glow head in the photo if you are using some super secret combo you don't want to divulge.
