40ºC? That's like 104ºF.... I think your thermometer is broke.... the warmest in the main-land States is Key West and they are 51ºF
Hawaii is only 66ºF

Yup I did that on purpose to see if anyone was paying attention.
(Make 40 degrees F then but it's still unseasonably warm here for January)
EDIT: Just checked the temp at our mountain cabin near Mt. Rainier, WA:
A balmly 38 degrees F and no snow accumlation. VERY unusually warm!

Just south of you, we were so frozen yesterday our truck doors were hard to open and you could scrape the windows.

Thurston County very often experiences wider temperature variations than up here in Pierce County.

Yes Bob... about 2" on the ground so far... Yesterday the high was 57 degrees F. It's been a wacky Winter!
