Cox Engine of The Month
Song of the week (or month)

Song of the week (or month)
Listen to it? I do, more than once.
It was changed not long ago: was Blue Oyster Cult, now it's blues, ideal background for plane building. However, my favorite was a few months back - 3rd Stone From The Sun by Hendrix.

Oh, great! We aim to please. I'll try to change it more often. Are you Frenchmen familiar with Blue Oyster Cult? Their first three plus the live album are my favorites by them. Probably my all time favorites.OVERLORD wrote:Listen to it? I do, more than once.

Fyi, one of the best six bucks and some change I've ever spent was for a power cord to connect my computer or cel to my stereo, so I can play Pandora thru my basement stereo speakers instead of the computer speakers. I don't why I didn't do this years ago?

BÖC came to play for free at the State Fair last summer. I too have a bunch of their records.

Secret Treaties. Yeah, that one is a little different style from the first two, but definitely one of my three favorite BOC studio albums. The live "On your Feet or on Your Knees" was great too with a combination of songs from the first(un-named), Tyranny and Mutation, and Secret Treaties.Mark Boesen wrote:i remember the BOC album with the German Me-262 on the cover, i thought that was pret-ty cool!
As far as a great show for a few bucks, I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd, Golden Earring and BOC (in that order) at Carolina Coliseum in 1972 for $4 bucks. At the time I had never heard Skynyrd. That was way before Free Bird. I also saw the Eagles open for Yes before I really knew who the Eagles were too.The first concert I ever saw was the Guess Who's American Woman tour(that's what I remember calling it anyway). Maybe 1970. Soon after that Uriah Heep came to town. I have no idea how many concerts I've seen. It's hard to believe I saw them all.
I try to think back and remember all of them and have forgotten more than I can recall. Too bad people can't follow live bands like that anymore because they're way too expensive.
Bands I hate having missed are:
Jimi Hendrix (too young, he died when I was in the 7th grade)
The Who (kicking myself for turning down a ride on the Magic Bus to Charlotte. Keith Moon's last tour)
Pink Floyd
Aerosmith
The Stones
The Amboy Dukes (early Nugent - Journey to the center of the mind)
and more recently, Sublime
I'm drawing a blank. I'd have to get a flashlight and stare at the edges of my LPs to remember more.

Long time ago (in the 80's I presume), I've hear about this band, I heard some tracks that's all. After I always remember this name, and I don't know why, but I never try to listen some other tracks.

Re: Song of the week (or month)
I just added Samantha Fish(the glow-fuel can guitarist & vocalist) to my Blues mix on Pandora. There is a great interview with her on Youtube. She's a bonafide Blues artist. Her influences go as far back as Skip James. I was impressed.
Lieven, are you 100 % French? I watched one of your videos and you speak English as well or better than most Americans.

No, not at all, I am an expatriated Belgian. My wife is French though, but not from Normandy, from the other side of the country, near Verdun, of WWI fame. My daughter has both nationalities.
Thank you for the compliment but I think you listened to the wrong video. I just listened to them all and I only could hear screaming engines or underwater bubbles.
