Re: sleep study tonight
Yea... I've been "dodging that bullet" for years... Being a musician and playing in LOUD bands over the years, has taken it's toll on my hearing... Working in machine-shops hasn't helped either... although I tried to wear hearing protection most of the time at work.SuperDave wrote:Roddie:
Be VERY thankfull you're not of the "denial" mind set. Explore ALL opions open to you!
In a parallel situation at one time I was in "denial" that I needed hearing aids UNTILL I came to realize how much of life I was missing. I now have a good pair and don't give a damn who see them on my ears.

I'm constantly apologizing... and asking people to repeat themselves... especially if there's background noise.

For me the "kicker" was when my young g'kids climbed into my lap and spoke to me in their soft and respectful "little kid" voices.
"Eh?" I would say.

Re: sleep study tonight
A tech is delivering a new VPAP type machine to me at home today. Let's all pray that this thing works... and that I get some sleep. If it works; I'll be a lot less crazy...
Re: sleep study tonight
I hope it helps. I'm talking to the doctor about this kind of thing now. He's sending me a sleep study maching to the house to do a home study. I might do the Somnoplasty proceedure to stop/reduce my snoring.

Re: sleep study tonight
As for me my sleep is "the sleep of the innocent" though I sympathize with those who have sleep problems.
Now, if you'd change you evil ways................. REPENT AND BE HEALED!

EDIT: Since I've previously expressed myself on this subject I repectfully withdraw from further comment.

Re: sleep study tonight
Thanks buddy. I'll keep you informed. I don't want to do the CPAP thing.

Re: sleep study tonight
I recently wore a fingertip test device as part of a "home sleep study" to obtain data for treating my sleep apnea condition... again...
I'm trying to get help again.. because I just couldn't tolerate the CPAP/VPAP treatment attempts from 10 years ago. Left untreated; I've been at a higher risk for stroke, high blood-pressure.. and other health problems. There have been many advances made in the equipment for treating the condition over the last ten years.. so I'm hopeful.
I asked my "Sleep Doctor" about the new INSPIRE device to treat my sleep apnea.. and it's a bit more invasive than their TV commercials let on.. I'd rather not go that route.. unless I have to.
I'll be fitted for a new "mask" and CPAP unit over the next few weeks.

Wish you a speedy recovery. Morale is very important. An old saying is, "I am OK, you are OK, God doesn't make junk"
