Good job Eric. A little deja vu seeing her run.
That last picture looks like Cox Dynasty.
I'm a grey-beard too.

Eric,
Glad you had fun! It ran great! You didn't step on anyones toes.
If you have time run it on the stuntman!

Looks like it ran good this time. Did you use the KK needle valve on this last run?

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Thanks, Eric, good work. You could put a sharp APC prop on it and get a quick trim.
Microflitedude Matt and I are going to do a joint exposition like we did with the Traveling prop. I was thinking it might be a week or two longer before we had it and would have to wait until after Huntersville and Joe Nall. But we'll collaborate and see if we can get it done before the end of April.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Thanks guys ! Rusty ups wasn't open fri morn , got her out to u that even $15.60 for $150 insr. tracking no. I just used ground they said it would be at your house Monday . she is cleaned and packed signed off on . I wish I could have got to fly it but the engine mount on the 23 wouldnt work because the medallion that was on it mount holes were oversized and just would nt line up . Yes Jason the KK needle worked better but I believe the devarnishing of the cly did the trick. . I really enjoyed being a part of this Thanks again

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Nice kit! The Traveling Engine landed safely in Columbia, SC today. Thanks, Eric.
Matt and I will let you know when our joint exhibition will be held. If we don't get it done the next two weekends, we run slam into the Carolina Classic contest May 2,3, and 4. And Joe Nall the two weekends after that. We'll do our best not to bog the works. I know how that dampens the excitement.
This week, I'm tying up loose ends to fly the Reed Speed plane. I hope to fly that one on Thursday so I don't have to fly it after dialysis(M,W,F), which would be quite an unstable affair. The weather looks clear Wed, Thu and Fri for that. After that I can preflight the Li'l Satan for the Traveling engine. She gets a new set of tail booms and proper leadouts.
I'd hate to see it fly away over the house like the Kitty Cat plane.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
It's been a busy time here at the first of the flying season. I got the Li'l Satan on the table now and will prepare it to host the Traveling Engine. I want it to be safe, so she's getting new tail feathers and leadouts. I have a new kit for parts, so I don't even have to cut wood. Matthew is spending some time at Joe Nall, but I'm only doing a day trip up there. So if we can't connect soon, I'll do the Engine myself and then send it to him. If we can hook up, that'll be great too.
Just didn't want to keep y'all in suspense.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Getting the Li'l Satan ready for its big day.
New tail feathers and proper hinging:
I opened up the center sheeting to put new leadouts on. Forget it, just do it right the first time. This was early in my career of built-up wings and internal bellcranks:
Silkspan drying. Paint, glue and a little lipstick and she'll be worthy of a CEF high speed adrenalin stoked exposition!
The Traveling engine awaits.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Good, I just shot most of the first segment of my video today.
You can expect Traveling Engine, the Movie - Part 1 to be uploaded by tomorrow night.
Sorry for the delay, but it's been a busy month with a stunt contest in another state, the Reed Speed contest, and the Joe Nall also out of town. Plus the Li'l Satan repairs because I recieved the engine sooner than I expected. All that is now behind me and my camera is set up over the stage with the Engine cases and the Li'l Satan. I just need to polish the first movie segment and upload it. I have to reshoot some blunders. I might even include an outtake trailer.
Traveling Engine - Part 2, the Flight will take place as soon as a good flying day comes, and all looks good for this weekend, very possibly tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks for your patience, I hate it when others delay it and I hate being one of those.

If I don't get consumed by my crazy mother-in-law or fall off a ladder, it'll fly this afternoon about 6. Assuming the church isn't singing.
Doncha hate that!
Juuuuust kidding.
