Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Thank you for the congrats everybody! I keep forgetting how much more effort simple things like going to the post office, bank, and grocery store are at this point.
(I hope I get some flying time now and then, I have 2 new flite streaks in the basement with OS25LA's on my desk, a new mini DLG glider, and I am almost done rebuilding my 2m glider!)

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
The "Traveling Engine" got here yesterday(thanks Phil).
The plan is to run her and shoot a couple photos this
week or or Saturday at the latest, then it's off to Eric(getback)
in North Carolina.
Now, where's my lucite chicken stick?

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Got to run the Traveling Engine today. Started easily and ran right
up to 18,500-19,500rpm.
Used one of the 5-3 props and Sig Champion 25%, with a
little extra castor added.
That was a blast, or as my neighbors say, "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee".
Lucky they're good sports.
Cleaned up, applied some after-run oil and wiped silly grin off my face.
Packed her up and took her to the P.O. and it's off to Eric(getback) in Julian,N.C.
Thanks Jason and Jacob for putting this together.
Bob
ps. That's a lucite pedestal in the 3rd picture Jason.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Looks like you had fun with it! I'm glad it started and ran easy for you. Thanks!
Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Good work, Bob. Glad the neighbors got to hear it. I must not be too far down the list. I better pretty up the Li'l Satan for a romp over the grass with it.

Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
Is there a list, in order, of who it's going to? I'm curious where I am on the list.

Everyone, don't forget to ask for a tracking number when you mail the engine.

You got it!
Re: Follow The Traveling Engine!
I used 2-day priority mail. Comes with tracking # and $50 insurance,RknRusty wrote:Everyone, don't forget to ask for a tracking number when you mail the engine.
Rusty
and $3 for an additional $150 insurance.
Total from Long Island NY to Julian NC-$11.90.
I think Phil did the same when he mailed it to me.
Not bad, and it gets there in 2 days!

update Traveling Engine
https://youtu.be/FVc1tYyqjVk Sorry that was weaker than I thought but is already out there soooo.. my setup this what I usually use so feel at home if you will. OK the other side I have the Traveling Engine at this time I finally got a chance to mount and run , well maybe just me so far but had a time trying to get the 049teedee running. After getting her started it ran out good and strong as you see. I did not like the way the ordinal needle was acting, I have since then got it torn down cleaning and putting new head gaskets 2 what was in it, Every thing was so tightly put together i did leave a mark on the cylinder that i never did get off/ even with a 5/8 hose over the cyl. and slip type channel locks. so i did go ahead and give the cyl linner a little 000 steel woolen to remove some tarnish build up i was surprised to see this at this time but ...with Hobbies #9 it is looking better i am going back with the fine tread nva to test again then to the plane... Having a blast with just the short time I will have it ,I plan on using the stuntman 23 from the 70S I built as a kid (younger that is)
