Re: New Guitar
Hi Matt, nice guitar. Are you a regular player? I used to play a lot when I was your age and later when I was sailing: started with Beatle songs, then Hendrix and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I still have my '75 Fender Telecaster, I got for my 18th birthday. It came without the "ashtray", but thanks to internet, I found one a few years ago. One of these days, I'll post a picture.

Re: New Guitar
I took up guitar a couple months ago and ran with it. I bought the BT-2 a week or two ago - been practicing every day now. I paid $50 for the guitar, amp, strap, stand, 15ft cable, and case.
"Guys with guitars" has become a sort of cliche nowadays.

Re: New Guitar
Nice guitar! I started playing guitar back in 82 when I learned my first 3 chords, G A7 and D.
Here is a pic of my guitars.
2011 Gibson Les Paul 1960's Tribute Gold Top with P-90's
2004 Epiphone 1st series Ace Frehley signature Les Paul Custom with DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups. I upgraded the wiring, switch, pots, jack and tone caps. Not only does it play and feel as good as a Gibson, but it sounds just as good if not better!
1987 Gibson SG Elite USA with EMG pick ups

Re: New Guitar
I've worked in construction my whole life and there were two songs that would make the whole crew drop what they were doing and grab the "air guitar" when they came on the job radios.
They were Rock The Casbah by the Clash and Money For Nothing by Dire Straits, still makes me laugh when I think about it.

Re: New Guitar
The Gibson SG was my first and only electric guitar. It was Cherry with a black pick guard. I bought it because it is identical to the one Pete Townshend played in Woodstock. I kept it until my wife and I had our first child. Money was tight then so I sold it to a music shop for $350 dollars. It was still as pretty as it was when new. I still get angry every time I think about that. For the life of me I can't remember what we needed the money for.....

Re: New Guitar
I've been there and got the T-Shirt! I had a USA made Jackson Soloist with neck through construction and a mint Charvel San Dimas that I sold when I first moved in with my wife back in 97 to help fund an apartment lease. I gave them both away for $650.00 Talk about kicking myself in the @##!Cribbs74 wrote:The Gibson SG was my first and only electric guitar. It was Cherry with a black pick guard. Re: New Guitar
Yes they are. Here are a couple of fun facts about the SG. The first SG was originally designed to be a light weight Les Paul but Les didn't like it and asked to have his name removed but the first SG and the reissues are badged "Les Paul Custom" and Jack Bruce from Cream got his signature bass sound from EB3 basses.dckrsn wrote:
