Just a heads up for other Mac users, when you come to this forum without logging in there is a banner add to the right of the search box.
The targeted add I always got had an animated spinning ball that said "missing plug-in". The add knew I had Flashplayer on this Mac.
A few days ago I clicked the add by accident and it froze Safari while trying to install its software. The download was blocked but I had to "force quit"
Safari to get out of the download. No new Apple products come with Flashplayer, at the time of his death Steve Jobs was in a running battle with the CEO
of Adobe over Flashplayer because of security and other issues. Many web sites use it for animation.

When Flash notifies me of updates on my Windows system, I always have to un-click the garbage extras, toolbars, etc. I assume they would all install if I had it set to automatically download updates. Not that that widespread practice is new, but I still consider it to be extreme rudeness. [/rant]

Flashplayer has to update often because of the security issues, there is better software for animation for web sites.

All those ads that you see when not logged in are ads placed by the forum hosting site. They often say "Download" or "Missing Plugin". Once logged in, all the ads should go away. Many other forum owners have reported those ads to forumotion but I don't think it gets anywhere.
