Re: Becoming a RC Pilot - Looping :) -
Yes you are right phil.
I don't want to have another time waster. Too many projects which are not completed at the moment.
I think something arf would be better for me. But all the posts of you guys help me in my ,,finding process'' before i started this topic i didn't know the range of possibilities.
But I have another idea, in april is a big modelling fair nearby:
http://www.westfalenhallen.de/messen/intermodellbau/en/
I could check if they have something suitable for me there.

"5 halls of demonstrators" is what google translate gave me. That might offer up something good.
If you are not finishing these projects then you are right, there is no need to start a complex project involving mass cutting.
I was looking at a scroll saw today since I enjoy the building, but not so much the cutting. I will pick one up before my next scratch build. I have a list of other projects for the scroll saw.
Phil

Oh sorry, I thought I posted the english language link.
Maybe I can snatch a little plane for an attractive exhibition prize there. Last time I visited this fair is about 20 years ago (at this time there were some cox planes available ). I know that there are some vintage clubs, I think a visit would be worth.
I do some investigation about the littlest stick and found other interesting modells here:http://my.pclink.com/~dfritzke/
I wonder how a 2 Cox engined plane would fly I guess the engine synchronization would be a mess?
BTW: The Glider still flies great, no damages at all (my skills grow every time i take it out ). It makes fun to pull the plane to its ceiling service height, stop the motor and just glide. In consideration of this and that the weather is often light windy in the area I use to fly, I would appreciate a throttled engine for the cox project. + Rudder and Elevator so 3 channels. I think that would be enough for me.
I had a Comet Piper Balsa Kit when I was young. I never build this kit, but due to some removals I don't know were it is.
Maybe a buddy of me has it in his attic, where I had stored all my rc stuff the last years.
But I think these comet kits where only rubber band models isn`t it`?
I actually found another nice one:

So, the search has hopefully an happy end.
the Texan will be delivered end of march as i am on holidays now:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/151008369453?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
The price was fair I would say. I have to buy a radio (something cheap I thought about HK) and servo's.
The Wingspan is 900mm overall, length 600mm and weight about 550gramms.
I don't know yet which engine I will use or if I will build something new.
I think about a throttle control, maybe I will convert one of my black widow's with a rc throttle.
First I will have a look at the plane. If there is enough space, I could also use a engine with the Kyosho muffler throttle,
which is very quit.
I don't know yet, maybe you have got suggestions.

I could be wrong Chris but I reckon that's a .15 sized plane
Rather than an 049.
If you've watched all those guys stalling on take off on
Utube because of insufficient airspeed I'd think the last thing
You'd need is it to be underpowered.

You'll be fine Chris.
Just remember hand launch into wind and let airspeed build before trying to turn it.
Get some video too.

Ok thanks sir.
It will take some time before maiden flight and i will take some more lessons with the glider
Before i bash it into the ground.
Video will follow, also from the glider.

My Holiday is over and I received the texan today.
I take a picture for better imagination, in front you see the warhawk. The brushless motor was also deliviered, so if it does not work with a cox i could go electro.
Of course powered by cox would be cooler, we will see. It is very lightweight, but fully balsa made.
Which engine should I use? I thought about a black widow maybe with surestart backplate and throttle or a throttled td 0.49.
What do you mean, Sir Goddard already suggest hand launch also.

Re: Becoming a RC Pilot - Looping :) -
Yesterday i was jogging and saw a glider like mine (but the bigger version) and thought today is a good day for flying.
It was not to windy so I took the plane out. My brother asked me allways if it is possible to do a loop with it I allways said it has not enough engine power.
With this in mind I let the plane climb as high as possible, than make a nosedive to gain more speed and pulled the plane out of the dive and managed it to do a 5 times looping .
That was really funny

Ok now we go stinky loud and ruthless
I recently bought a Graupner - Citabria Cox 0.49 historical aircraft
It is a small bird controlled by rudder and elevator made in the 60's.
I think it will be a good rc/ Cox engine trainer (High Wing aeroplane).
Maybe I will add a muffler, if it will help to get no stress.
