Servo mounts finished. One cracked, filled the crack with epoxy and CA.

No idea. I usually use about 60% for first flights if it's a twitchy looking plane. Tiny bit of exponential.

I was talking about it over on RCG then somebody tried it in the larger version with a Golden Bee.

I did that to the phase 3 cub and flew the [bleep] out of it.
But is was a less flexible foam with a plastic body and it eventually became mor glue and fuel than plane.

Got the tail wheel done up. VERY pretty tail, eh?

Correct. Doubt the little plastic wheel will do much in grass.

I'd be surprised if you could even take off from grass with that plane

With some smaller wheels it would do ok in a grass/sand mix. If not, we have an electric runway.

Well I got the throttle tube in, works great. I also ran and evaluated the motor - healthy runner. Little too much power, won't idle as low as I'd like.
Shot a video but good 'ole Youtube sucked the audio out. And we all know such videos are worthless without the engine's music.

Here's the new video ~
I don't think that muffler does anything.

That's a really nice idle, I didn't know they would run that slow and smooth.

Hi shell shock we are in live chat if you want to join us.
Re: Build Log: Converting a 31" Super Cub to .049 Power (revisited)
Thanks. Some of my other engines with that throttle will idle much lower and still run good. I was having too much fun blipping it up and down.
My TP .46 is giving me more grief than this thing ever did.
It appears I have a very healthy runner. It must have been broken in properly and well cared for. (I am not the original owner) Completely airtight as it shuts down as soon as vent are plugged. I also did not use up all the fuel, so I should get some good flying times as I will be flying in low RPM.

I cut the throttle tube down to size, and crammed the receiver in back. Bought some struts that are way too big, (hobbystore closed that carried the strips) and some grommets for the servo. They conveniently did not come with the little metal inserts.
It is HEAVY. More so than i planned.

How heavy?
with a plane this size you really want under 15oz.

10.1 oz. Not counted some extra dabs of glue and fuel.

That should be exiting
That would fly with pee wee .020 so the black widow may be 3D.

I probably would have if I had one.
I made a rock solid strut system. Looks ugly and needs refining, but I am not known for building pretty airplanes.
Another question to decide - Should I use a 72mhz radio without rates and expo? Or should I wait and order a JR 2.4? I have a 2.4 parkflier RX, not sure how much I would trust it on a plane with an engine.... :?:
Somebody said, "If you wouldn't fly yourself in the airplane, bring it back in the pits and fix it"

Folks have flown 72 MHz for years without problem. Actually, one of my 1/2A installations is 72MHz AM and it works just fine. I would not worry about the radio at all - just install, range test it and fly.
