FOUND: cox dragonfly clunk for tank
i recently purchased a cox .049 dragonfly and while cleaning the parts i noticed that the clunk or weight from the rear tank was missing. does anyone know where they can be purchased or have an extra on or have any experience making one? any information would be appreciated.
edited 5-29-13 - sorry for the delay - thanks to Kim for providing a clunk for the dragonfly tank.

This is an image I posted for Travis awhile back, you can see the "clunks" in the picture. Just go to your local hobby shop and look for some small line weights. If you can't find them as a part, just get a small fuel tank kit as they likely come with them.

Solder a bit of lead fishing weight to a piece of brass tube? (Can you even buy lead fishing weights anymore??)
Altho, not sure how lead/solder react to glow fuel/nitromethane.

Would a clunk from a 1oz sullivan tank work?
They are pretty available.

Think I've got an original one too. I'll watch this thread and see if Travis has one for you. If not...I'll conduct an official search !

thanks for all the examples and advice. since i am interested in restoring the engine to original condition i probably will look for the real clunk instead of trying to make my own.
edited 4:12p.m. PST 11-26-12 - p.s. were there 2 versions of the tank? one slightly longer than the other? i have seen some dragonflys with an extra back to the tank.

Yeah...mine came with a flat plate that closed off the back of the tank flush, and a "cupped" version that added a bit more capacity.

thanks for the info. if you do find one please PM me. i have mucho cox parts to trade.
if i was going to just use the dragonfly i would most likely make a clunk out of something, but i am interested in making the engine like original, then probably selling. i have already added the RC muffler, cleaned and run the engine. i also need to make a new back tank gasket. happydad
