Cox Engine of The Month
Lube port con rod

Lube port con rod
Picked up a seized tee dee .049 on the cheap today from the lhs. The conrod appears to have a lubrication port on the crank end is this normal? Appears to be a standard ball joint with a thin wall cylinder.

Re: Lube port con rod
The early TD's had this as I have a few that have this with the thin walled cylinder. Must have realized it did not offer any real advantage with it and they removed a machining step to cut costs or it caused problems with the bottom of the con rod breaking.
