Cox Engine of The Month
Need help to launch our new magazine

Need help to launch our new magazine
We are working on launching a Cox magazine (as newsletter) 4x per year. Sort of like this publication:
http://coxengines.ca/files/News.pdf
as an electronic version. Black Hawk gave up on the rag and we will try to step in. We need your help with a name for the publication.
Perhaps we can get some suggestions from the members here and then pull some for a poll?
I came up with:
Half A Modeller
The Cox Modeller
Keep me in the loop with Cox

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
Other than Joe's suggestion, the one of yours I like the best is "Half-A Modeler," with the hyphen and one "L." I'll tune in my creative powers and try to come up with some more.

Okay Penis jokes aside, I'd also go for half-a-modeler. It sounds serious and very catchy!

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
Few people around here know what 1/2a means, so it might be interpreted as Half Ass modeller...?
Something with cox in the name might better then since the focus will be on Cox products, I guess.

I like Half-A Modeler.
It specifies the engine size, but leaves the door open for discussing the building of small planes as well.

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
Thanks to everyone for submissions.
We will leave this open for today and then commission an official poll on the forum with a short selection of submissions.
Since we will be hosting the publication and paying for all associated costs there should be a benefit to us. As we deal strictly with Cox branded merchandise (and a few complimentary items that are non-Cox) the focus should be on Cox.
However, this does not mean the exclusion of other brands of engines, kits, etc. It is just that we only have so much human and monetary resources and there would be little point in promoting a 40 size kit with an OS Max engine. There are already enough mags out there catering to such. But nothing Cox out there.
It might not be a bad idea to have the word "Cox" in the title. But then, this is why we are asking and looking for input.
The mag will also have an ad section, free for non-commercial ads.
Later today I will start a new thread re. collaboration and contributions. Just need to get past the name part

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
Sounds good Bernie!
-Half-A Modeler (like said before)
-Cox International 360
-Cox Engines Quarterly
-Cox International Seasonal Report (with the last issue being just before the holiday season filled with greatly reduced "black friday" deals LOL) (give or take the "seasonal" in the name)
-Keep in the Circle with Cox
-Cox International Seasonal Circular (again, give or take the "seasonal" in the name sounds better with seasonal though)
I'll think up some more later!
I like the free classifieds idea!

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
Or maybe,, Cox International Flying circle. That way, if possibly a google search is done on "Flying",, it might pop up to full scale piloting searches and get clicked on. Most folks who fly now probably at one time flew a CL or RC plane in there youth.
Just thinking about getting it to pop up on a search if done on a broader base.

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
Looks like we have 3 dozen suggestions and we will now print the list and pull some that we believe are well-suited, whilst serving what we are trying to achive.
Thanks to everyone for all the good input.
I think we can set up a poll on this forum for members to vote in, correct?
Would anyone like to do this with the list of titles we will provide? Just rocking busy here as we need to migrate another 15 or so domains and their associated mail servers to our new VPS.

Cox Full Circle
Well done Keith
Describes the company, the product, the historical situation
And creates a little intrigue if stumbling across on a search

Cox International Model World
Includes the prime sponsor's name (guy that's paying the bills). Doesn't sort of implicitly exclude cars and boats, some interest in those on this site.
Yeah, 'International' and 'World' is redundant...

Cox International's Prop & Wheel
Cox International's Half-A Prop & Wheel
Cox International's Half-A Prop & Wheel Circular
Kinda reminds me of "Plane & Pilot" magazine.

Yes, if you'll post the ones you want us to vote on, we'll set up a poll thread.Cox International wrote:Looks like we have 3 dozen suggestions and we will now print the list and pull some that we believe are well-suited, whilst serving what we are trying to achive.

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
Ok, staff and I got to choose 10 each from the list of 41 offered. Following are the 6 we overlapped on (we each included those 6 in our 10 choices):
Cox Talks
Cox International Flyer
Cox International News
Cox International Buzz
Cox Engines Quarterly
Keep me in the loop with Cox
So yes, please set up the poll for those 6 names and we will be sending those names to persons that are not forum members.

Re: Need help to launch our new magazine
I vote for "Cox Talk" (no s at the end) short and informative.
