Seen 'em before, sometimes called grilled chicken butts. Another name is pope's nose.
Re: I hope this is a bad translation!
I seem to remember my mother referring to them as "the last part of the chicken to jump the fence".

My wife always wants the Parson's Nose from the holiday turkey. She's welcome to it.Over here they are called the "Parson's Nose" But I never knew anyone ate them!

LOL
Of course!
Just have seen that it is really the rump. Cannot imagine how glandular tissue would taste - but I won't try it

I see no reason to eat it when other parts of the chicken are so nice!I think I'm gonna have bbq today.coxaddicted wrote:nitroairplane wrote:I'm just saying, based on the picture it looks damn tasty!

Re: I hope this is a bad translation!
I watched an episode on the food channel and it was set somewhere in Asia and it featured street food and guess what?
There were chicken sphincters on a stick! Along with chicken uterus and other various bits of offal from a chicken.
So yes, folks do eat this stuff. Sometimes what we see as strange is actually not to other folks.
As to the picture in question...... It is probably a fake but, very funny though.

Re: I hope this is a bad translation!
I once visited a "farmers' market" in China were we saw all sorts of animal parts for human consumption offered for sale.
How about a nice tasty rat from the "Q" for supper followed by blood pudding for dessert?

I would have to be pretty hard up to eat a rat in any form. It's probably the most vile and filthiest animal ever created.
As far as blood pudding is concerned, if it's in sausage form then it ain't so bad but, if it's a bowl of blood soup I'll pass.

Blood pudding is known in the UK as "Black Pudding" I know a lot of folks who really enjoyed it, until someone told them what the ingredients were!

Re: I hope this is a bad translation!
When dining at an AUTHENTIC Chinese eatery in China it is better NOT to ask: "What is it?" unless you are prepared to accept the answer.
American Chinese food has NO resemblance to authentic Chinese food. Actually some of the best "Chinese" food on the planet is found in Japan.

I think it's vile, not because of what it is but more how it tastes.Ivanhoe wrote:SuperDave wrote:I once visited a "farmers' market" in China were we saw all sorts of animal parts for human consumption offered for sale.
