"Xtreme" .049
Just a question from a newbe. I'm getting about 1 min. run time out of my Xtreme with 25% sig and -1min with 35%. Do these # sound about right? ( This is with "stock" 8cc tank)Thanks, Bryan
Also, do I need to be concerned with run time if I hook up a 1oz. tank to this motor(heat reasons)?

One minute sounds about right seeing as it's a performance engine. There may be a slight increase in RPM between 25-35% but, not enough to lessen the run time.
As to the heat, as long as the engine is clean and functioning properly you can run it just shy of forever without issue.

You might also check the location of the pick-up tube in the tank. I can't remember if mine was set up for Control Line or not. If the line is run over to the side of the tank, you may not be using all of the fuel in the tank. I didn't think to time the runs on my "Lucky 13", but DID do some long runs, during break-in and after, by "Hot-Fueling" it on the run, and like Ron says, it stabilizes and just keeps going.
I've got it installed in my Scientific "Big Otto" and am gonna try it out on 40 feet of Spider Wire when I get the chance.

Hi Bryan
Bear in mind that the higher nitro content will nescesitate a greater needle valve opening so 35 being gobbled
up faster than 25 would be correct.
As for how long? My Extreme still hasn't run but my killer bee would guzzle 1oz of 30% in not much more than four mins.

I never even considered the tube, now that I think about it 1:00 is a bit on the short side.

Re: "Xtreme" .049
When we assemble the "Xtreme" engines we place the pickup line at aprx 18:30 hrs (when viewed from the rear).
Theoretical run time with 25% nitro is about 90 seconds but it also depends on prop size/type, elevation, etc.
It is, after all, a perfomance engine

Thanks all. here is something strange though, with 25% the needle is open 5 turns and when I switch to 35% I had to lean it almost a full turn. Will just keep playing with it. Does run smoth though. will mount tank on the pitts and give it a run. thanks again.

Different fuels (mixes, brands, etc) may require different NV settings.
Higher nitro affects RPM and hence reed movement; often requiring a NV adjustment.
I ran one last night at the request of a buyer and I had to go with 5 GH gaskets to get the thing to start by hand, that's how over-compressed it was. Got it down to 3 gaskets after 5 tanks of fuel.
