Cox Engine of the month entries - July 2012
Post them here.
And if one of you other moderators could handle the poll this month, that would be dandy, as I am going to the Beach next week.

Re: Cox Engine of the month entries - July 2012
Here is my submission for July. Cox TD .010 on a free flight Comet Piper Cub. Built it in the early 90's and flew it many times. Never lost it as I had a pretty short turn set up. It would spiral up then glide down in a circle.

Here's my entry for July.
Custom made single exhaust port Tee Dee .049 made from a Cox factory blank. The engine features duel bypass cylinder with the bypass ports set at an angle vs vertical with no boosts. The engine as pictured is set it up with a Torpedo 5/3 prop and using Sig 35 fuel.

Saw this last week.
I tried to do the decent thing and talk the poor guy out of it but...
Aparently it has a prototype Cox straight 6 under the bonnet.

Re: Cox Engine of the month entries - July 2012
My entry is a Tee Dee .051 with KK needle and a non-standard plug. The pressure nipple was cut off and a red pressure backplate was included. The box included the standard needle, backplate and an extra prop screw. I don't know who made the changes, nor did my LHS:

Well...we got to FIX that !!!
Yeah...the sound was this weird and somewhat terrifying harmonic howl. Turns out...when you're trying to start more than one engine, you REALLY need to secure the cradle !!! 'Else it comes after you as you try to start the other engines! Live and learn !
AND it gets your beautiful sailplane REALLY good and slimy !

I may electrify my BOT as I have a power 10 from a biplane I crashed. I forgot to turn off my high rates before I took off... DOH!

Thanks and Will-Do !!! Gonna try to get some more footage later today after (hopefully) this incredible heat breaks a tiny bit. I got up early to get this done today, and by the time all the fiddling around was done and me and the B.O.T. headed for the yard, the temp was already past a hundred degrees !
Probably head to the airport to crunch down a video this evening.

Hey, Kim, any chance of you sending some of that heat you are complaining about over here? We can swap you huge amounts of rain if you wish!

Careful what you wish for lads.
We've endured the wettest April, June on record and July
Looks set to be the same.
The roof is definitely going to be on at Wimbledon this
Afternoon.
Now where're my snorkel and flippers.....?

Yep...sorry to whine...it's just been SO blessed hot...for SO blessed long ! Of course, with everything dead and brown, I haven't had to mow the yard in a month, so there ARE some advantages!

Does anyone have a full-size plan for the Ark mk1, designed a long time ago by a feller named Noah?
I begin to think that construction must start pretty soon now!
