I have 2 in my checkout Matt, anything wrong with them? Why are you going with a different supplier?

Re: Cox Killer Bee Crankshaft Closeout
I'm guessing it is because they screwed up and make them slightly too long (the reason you get the 2 spacers). There was also the issue of the threads that people were stripping too easily. And I guess some of the holes were drilled off center. The ones I have seem to be fine. Its typical China (they were made in China right?)... but where else are you supposed to bet stuff made for the absolute lowest cost.

They are good, but as Jacob mentioned some are slightly too long, thus the extra spacers if one wants to use them. You do not have too, but there might be a little more end play.
Yes, different suppliers for consistency purposes. The ones that were good are good (minus the end play issue) but there were far too many defects for my liking. They were done in Hong-Kong if I remember correctly. The new ones will be USA.

The one I got from Matt was too big at the splines. (diameter)
It's great that they are being made in the US. Price?

If we didn't send you a replacement please send me an email sales@exmodelengines.com and I'll take care of that.
Pricing will probably be a few dollars more, but nothing is set in stone yet.

This is why I do suggest buying from Matt and Bernie! If you do get something that doesn't work or has a hidden defect that wasn't easily seen before being sent out, they'll send you a replacement!
Re: Cox Killer Bee Crankshaft Closeout
Ok then Matt, I am going to take the plunge. The price is right anyway. Let's hope it can withstand 20K plus RPM. I am slowly aquiring parts for the most powerful tach race reedie engine ever devised. Yes it's like that.......

Mmmmmm, Tach race. I'll be represented this time.
Remember, we're up against Paul Gibeault. And Mudhen can slap together a pretty good one. I think I can too.

You will be good for the RPMs. These can withstand up to 30,000.

I tried to keep it tame Rusty, I really wanted to let loose but, was unsure how well it would go over. However, between you and I.......My engine will make your engine look like it was built by a wee girl!

I just hope the house we move into does not have many neighbors packed close to us.
There will be lots of running screeching engines.
Re: Cox Killer Bee Crankshaft Closeout
Uh-oh I created a monster and trashed Matt's crankshaft thread. Sorry Matt.
Between now and then, I gotta decide, Mighty Mouse or a Killer unlimited. Hmmm, guess I better stock up on Matt's cranks for my evil dark experimentation. No telling how many might explode into shrapnel during the development phase. Keep a safe distance boys... and girls.

Both! Enter your Widow into the Mouse 1 class, and your KB into the unlimited. You can enter one engine per class.

No worries
The tach race should be a highly competitive one next time around!
