In the forums, people often "bump" their topics after they get pushed to the bottom from other new topics getting posted afterwards. I don't mind the bumping but try not to do it more then once a day.
Re: wtb 1996 killer bee bottom end
Ok I understand now but why bump it to the top if your question has already been answered (I think)?

WTB = Want to Buy
WTT = Want to Trade
Etc.

I suspect Bernie is quite familiar with the buying and selling acronyms. He gave a source for the requested parts --- which is why the "bump" didn't make sense; unless, the poster expected a lower price.

Re: wtb 1996 killer bee bottom end
Yeah, I can see why he bumped the topic. He is after REAL genuine Venom/Killer Bee cranks. Bernie's cranks were designed from a real Venom/Killer Bee crank (as told to me by Paul) so they should match the performance of a real crank. I would suggest either Bernie's Cranks or DDD Killer Cranks. I have only used DDD cranks so far and their tolerances seem to be all over the place. I will be getting some of Bernie's Killer bee cranks once he gets his anodized stunt tanks in .
Re: wtb 1996 killer bee bottom end
Please, could you tell more about your experience with the DD cranks?

Re: wtb 1996 killer bee bottom end
Just to clarify:
Our KB cranks are the pre-Estes design. We took the original (pre-Estes) Cox drawings for the crank and sent it to a manufacturer.
The only thing we changed is the hardness. The OEM Cox cranks risked breaking past 20,000 RPM and when used in diesel applications. We made them to a hardness that will work with diesel engines and up to 30,000 RPM (like 60% nitro lol).
It will be very difficult to find an OEM Killer Bee crank. It took me a month to find (new/unused) one as sample for our manufacturer. Paul Gibeault finally took one from a Venom engine of his and lent it to us.

Re: wtb 1996 killer bee bottom end
My bad, I meant to get back to you earlier (another one of those moments where you quickly read it on your cell phone and forget to reply when you get home). I have used the DDD cranks in my Venom clone engines before and they do seem to work just fine when you get a perfect fit to the crankcase. I have yet to use Bernie's cranks, I have been making a list of crap to get from him (and a list of crap to get from Matt too).
I do know that the DDD Killer Cranks and Bernie's closer to Cox specification Killer Bee Cranks would work just fine in this application. You'll just want to be sure that you have a perfect fit in the crankcase.
Why exactly do you need a genuine Killer Bee/Venom crank?

I am sure with Cox Inter'l parts you will get a good Killer Bee clone. I know you may want to make real deal but I don't think anybody is going to give up a complete lower end. You could get luckyand good luck.

Re: wtb 1996 killer bee bottom end
Did you find an OEM Killer Bee for $80 or are you looking for one for that price?
Re: wtb 1996 killer bee bottom end
I have a few pre estes cranks. I have to dig around though Give me some time.
AH Searched and searched. I knew I had some strengthened cranks Turns out I only have 1 td 09 RC strengthened crank DOH
