Pee Wee with unusual tank
Re: Pee Wee with unusual tank
A home made tank also that pee wee is blue anodised incase people can't see that lol.Cox International wrote:What is this?
But it does look a lot like the taifun foxie tank but that only has 3 mounting holes.
Re: Pee Wee with unusual tank
I'd say a custom tank, but I think that's paint and not anodized. Maybe they knew how to spin metal? The vinturi would be the hard part.

Re: Pee Wee with unusual tank
Maybe but does not have the early .020 knurled head but heads are often replaced.
Very thin and 'rough' crankcase so it is early.
Odd silver backplate I still reckon it is home made though.
Bernie is this in your personal collection?

Re: Pee Wee with unusual tank
Almost looks like the backplate is nickel plated.

It's a.....

No, not in my collection lol.
The blue Pee Wee was just a pic a customers sent us, no idea what is inside.

If I were you I would offer to buy it off them.
But "Mudhen" might be able to tell you if it is a prototype, he is good with stuff like that!

Oh it does look interesting though.Cox International wrote:I have no idea who even sent us the pic - that was about 2 years ago.
Re: Pee Wee with unusual tank
Bernie, this tank looks very similar, apart from being a TD mounting, it's listed as "Custom Made FF Tank by FF Legend Sal Taibi" whoever he may be! Perhaps he made tanks for the Pee Wee too?

Re: Pee Wee with unusual tank
That looks like a Bee crankcase with a Tee Dee front end. It had to be custom machined, not easy as the bearings have to be positioned and aligned perfectly. I don't know if you could slice the nose off a TD and weld it to a Bee and get it right.

Wilf Sal Taibi was the designer of the "powerhouse"

It's a stock .020 TD with a custom tank job.
