The anodized tanks are also available by themselves:

and the Golden Bee crankcases will be listed as soon as I find some time to take pics and do so.

Re: Now available: Cox Black Widow II - Golden Bee II - Venom II
Could you clarify what type of cylinder and piston that these come with?
Reworked surestarts with the center bar removed? With or without lowering of the port for SPI?

Well all three are interesting, but it only says high performance cylinders at the moment?
The Golden Bee looks like a surestart with the bar removed, but the others are hard to see.

Re: Now available: Cox Black Widow II - Golden Bee II - Venom II
It looks to me like the BW and GB have these on them http://coxengines.ca/cox-.049-black-widow-cylinder-and-piston.html and the venom has one of these.
http://coxengines.ca/cox-.049-cylinder-texaco-medallion-killer-bee.html
But maybe with SPI.
I would rather like to know for sure too!

Re: Now available: Cox Black Widow II - Golden Bee II - Venom II
Basically, each and every engine we sell has a "Surestart" cylinder; whether modified or not.
Please keep in mind that the Surestart cylinders are nothing else but a #4 Tee Dee cylinder with slit exhaust ports and the bottom port cut-out raised to negate SPI.
Inside they are 100% identical to the #4 TD cylinders Cox used on their later series Tee Dee engines. Try bolting a Surestart cylinder onto a Tee Dee engine and running it. You will see what I mean as there is very little RPM drop. Perhaps 200 for the slit exhaust and another 200 for the non-SPI (SPI makes little difference on rotary valve engines).
All we did was modify these cylinders by removing the bar and/or lowering the port cut-out and, bingo, we are back to a #4.
The Golden Bee and Black Widow engines will have an open port (non SPI) setup and the Venom will have the SPI setup.
Other engines of ours we achieved SPI by using a non-modified cylinder and shortening the piston.

Correct on the BW & GB but the Venom will have this setup:

Also will the venom come with the 'original' style round driveplate, that the original had, you know the thick round one?

Cool!Cox International wrote:Yes, thick round driveplate
Re: Now available: Cox Black Widow II - Golden Bee II - Venom II
Those are beauties Bernie. Thanks for bringing them back. And I'm thinking your RPM claims for the GB and BW with a 5x3 and 25% nitro are pretty conservative.
Psssst, I heard a rumor about Tee Dee .049s being resurrected. Any truth to that?

Re: Now available: Cox Black Widow II - Golden Bee II - Venom II
Well, we are using the non-SPI cylinder on the BW and GB so it's about 2,000 RPM less than the Venom.
And, yes, we are currently researching parts supply for a Tee Dee 049. Should be identical to OEM, except that we will go with an aluminum carb body.
If the project pans out it would be for Fall/Winter this year.

I wonder how long a Venom will run at that blazing speed on 8cc of fuel. Probably 60 sec. My fastest Black Widow gets about 1:35.

Re: Now available: Cox Black Widow II - Golden Bee II - Venom II
New .049 Tee Dee's. That would be super. If you continue like this, it feels like Cox is back in action!
Re: Now available: Cox Black Widow II - Golden Bee II - Venom II
Hmmm. Might save my duckets for a couple new production Tee Dee's. Then again, maybe do a tri-fecta with all 3 of the latest offerings.
Decisions, decisions,,,,,
Will the alum carb body's have the raised rib between the cylinder and the threaded portion. It's the rib that locks the RC-05/09 oem muffler so it wont spin on the cylinder. Recently came across a couple nip Rc muffllers and was just curious. I know they are few and far between, but it would be nice to have that option if going thru the trouble of making alum bodies

No need for a layaway as the engines will all be stock items for the forseeable future. Pricing may creep up but that's about it.

The plan is to have a "regular" carb body, such as we use on this product:

Well, that answers that.
Thanks for the reply Bernie.
