Cox extra 300s
I am after as much info as possible for this extra 300s unused model please. I thought that when it arrived in my care some years ago that the box had a large see thro lid, but I cannot find it, so I may be mistaken .
Cox extra 300s. 1/98. 9881
P/n 436003
Cox. 1295 H street.
Penrose. Co. 81240
TM and c copyright 1998
Centri Corp
Made in china
The engine etc. Is brand new never flown or run.
Have seen 9880 version in the Estes 2000 booklet in the Cox info section on here.
I think I saw s picture of it in Cox history section.
Any/all info greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I bought one of those awhile back brand new in the box with the full staring kit , unfortunately the fuel leaked out and stained the box a little

I'd forgotten about the Cox model. The Extra is a wicked looking and performing airplane. The Cox model definitely has eye appeal.
I wanted a little extra.... some time ago.. and bought a Herr/Sig ARF RC model.. (still NIB)
Right around the time I sourced that Herr kit; I sourced an OS .10 FP/RC which was originally planned for a different kit..
An Ace "All-Star" bipe which I'd sourced direct from Ace.. (still NIB)
The OS .10 FP/RC (still NIB)
bucket-list items..
Re: Cox extra 300s
I had that Herr Extra , flew it with a Norvel .074 . It flew very good and very fast

Thanks guys, especially for the pictures.....
Might anyone have instruction sheet for engine, sure start with cylinder having flats, and, instructions for flying, spare parts, instruction sheet for model strip down and reassembly please.
In one of the pictures I have seen 4 screw holes, to hold wing/under Cary sectionoulfing to upper fuz ???
Upper fuz is in two parts, held together how exactly please ???
Any all help greatly appreciated.
Also, with engine run in and on song, how long s smooth runway needed to Rog take please ???

Yes, 4 screws hold the model together, main fuz seemed to be one piece. The plastic looks and feels quite hard and brittle, but that may be due to age and storage.
Numbers correct, I have just checked on the box underneath
Vic underneath states Cox 049 sure start, but on examination, no grey plastic *hex* or spring, but alloy hex prop driver....
Made in china seen on wing underside...
Where there any fakes in the early 2000's ?
Will be taking apart again to measure up and make templates for a model for the owners to *crash*, rather than the Cox one, training for combat warlord flying wing when he is up to speed......I haven't fallen over for ages now...

Re: Cox extra 300s
Nice plane, Extra, never seen a Cox version before.
I don’t think any fake parts would have ”made in China” on them I seem to recall from Cox history, that at some point the production was moved to China. I was surprised these were even manufactured in the year 2000 and later.

Funny you should mention that. I know I have a complete used one with the box. I need to organize things around here; I know there are extra parts but which version I have to find out.

Great question. Not being sure I used 22'-6" lines resulting in a 5-6 second rotation. Had excellent dead calm wind conditions with an extensive tree shrub line to my south and east.

length lines

I forgot to mention I am using hi-vis yellow 10 pound test Spiderwire. I have noticed much less line drag than the vintage stock lines provided.
Line length
Cool, but what line length please ?
