Hi does anybody know were I can purchase parts for my cox 045 engine I'm new to tether cars and struggling to find out any information I need a replacement needle valve for my cox thimble special 0-45 tether car to restore it back to its former glory can anyone help me. ?

There is an 045 learnt listed on the Cox info section on the sites left side.
Learnt something new today.
Cox international ?
Exmodelengines ?
Dens model supplies to UK ?
I have no idea as to needle hole size or thread pitch but there may be the info in the engine section in the left columb of the site, below today's thread names etc ..

know what model you are talking about
but I don't have this engine to compare with others but I have already used Cox parts on other models with a little ingenuity everything is possible this spitzy use a cox spray bar and neadle
but for the sake of keeping the original I think it would be good to find the right part

yes I'm in Hartlepool in the UK I've started restoring tether cars aswell as vintage diecast but realising getting hold of parts is a lot more difficult than I imaginedCoxfledgling wrote:Hartlepool, UK ???

That's the engine I can't find much info out about it I can't even find a picture of the mysterious needle valve, no spec info its like looking for a needle in a haystack but I'll keep trying
I've just had confirmation back from cox International that the 049 tanked needle valve can be used as a substitute for the 045 engine

It wants to screw in about 2 turns but the hole is old castor gummed and can't tell if it the gum or trying to cross thread ??

Mabe look a tee dee neadle mabe fit's its not very long neadle ??

Bee careful putting it in the hole is kind of off center on mine anyway i had put oil on it to clean the hole and needle some . My BB small head would not fit !

ye that's the one they have recommended same needle valve with a longer reach so happy days I've ordered one and it's on its way oh while I was on to cox I asked if they do any parts for 045 engine sadly they don't but at least I can restore the one I have or will have when it arrives from America
