Vintage Kim - "It's kind of like a rock on a string."
Youtube, probably several years ago.

"Rock on a string" very evident at the end when the fuel runs out and it belly flops to the ground.......................
My latest - Today - Big Boy Cosmic Wind - I think that Kim was flying the standard version. Big Boy = bigger belly flop.
Edit: Nope, looked at it again it was the larger version.

I love videos of the old plastic RTF models. I dont recall seeing many of them in my youth probably due to the small market in Oz. plenty of Cox PT-19 models but that was all. The plane in the video certainly wasnt a short take off model. I think you did a great job keeping it airborne. It certainly wanted to hunt. what type of glowhead was on it? Anyway thanks for posting it was a fun video

It was a straight-outta-the-box RTF, with its original Testors .049, so it had whatever head would have come with it.
It WAS tail heavy, even with the huge nut that's attached to the back of its engine mount. If I do it again, it'll be with some shot in the cheek cowls to make it more relaxing to fly.

Another fun vid by the Kimster! I never realized.. but makes sense to me now; that the larger 22.5" w/s variant had the front rotary valve intake engine.. where the 16" w/s version used the reed-valve engine.
Hey Robert, Does this latest "Big Boy" have all of its pieces intact?

Hi roddie, yes it does, even that big bolt that Kim notes. I have several like that. Gotta be for nose weight, serves a double purpose. But it is missing the spinner and prop.
Dusty but not dirty, got a warm water soapy bath. "Marks Airplane Keep off" gave me a smile and part of the reason I bought it. But mostly I bought it because you brought it to my attention. I did not know that Testors made two versions. I keep swearing off plastic airplanes and fail each time.
I do not have a clue as to what this tail number means.

the tail number OBVIOUSLY means Mark had a Dymo labelmaker.

My long departed Dad had one too. Not much escaped his attention as he labeled most everything. I have tools of his so marked. This one resides right here in my computer console. I have one also, packed away somewhere from our Florida move to WV.
I have got to Berrymans the engine which is locked up tight and find a prop and spinner for it.
I believe its the same model that Kim flew in his video. Love the last static shot. Pieces in the grass. Rubber banded engine departed the aircraft. Anything that you can walk away from.

Yea.. I appreciate Kim's time spent in the production/editing of his vids. It always makes them enjoyable to watch.
Regarding the model; my Cox variant has (had..) OEM "Little Tony" decals on its cowling..
I never knew who Little Tony was.. until I googled the link below.. (Spoiler alert; The #5 on your Big Boy variant identifies it as the "Ballerina"..)
Little Tony
Check out the Nice kit model link below..
Nice kit-model.. but out of stock

Thanks roddie. I checked your links, Tony Levier is mentioned occasionally in Air Classics. The CW is an eye catching design. I can see why it's so popular.
Oh my............ CW #2 (or is it 3) arrived today a couple of days early. I was not expecting it.
Highlight is an untouched Cox Starter kit. Will do another thread on it later.
