The Pee Wee that wasn't
AS-IS Vintage COX Pee Wee RC Glow Nitro Engine Airplane R/C for Parts or Repair Ebay ad description.
Have you checked the asking prices on ebay for Cox Pee Wee engines lately..........Pie in the sky, never going to happen.
Looking for Pee Wee backplates I found this complete engine for not to much money, a third of what all the other Pee Wee's were. But I had doubts. Looks like a Babe Bee to me but still, I took a chance. Worst case would be a pretty nice early BB with most of the case coloring intact albiet with tool marks on the glow head. While the Space Bug Jr. came with the Cox tool, blister pack Babe Bee's didn't. Perhaps should have.
Yup. Babe Bee, but cleaned up, a nice one.

Too bad it wasn’t a PeeWee but still turned out a nice early Bee…. There’s a little parts lot with two PeeWee backplates, a crankshaft, and some other stuff on the bay you may have seen?…. PeeWee’s are one of my favorites…. They work perfect for what I like to do with gas power at this time…. Quite powerful for their size and easy handling….Fuel goes a long way too ….

Re: The Pee Wee that wasn't
Thanks guys,
I never tire of pulling these apart, guess I have done over 100 Cox engines alone. Always surprises and something new. This one mostly untouched but with black pick-up tubing set up for free-flight with the pick-up set at the bottom of the fuel tank.
It got a Berryman's soak and a follow-up rinse with alcohol.
Usually I can just pop the venturi gasket out with a pick. Not so with this one, took heat from a heat gun and a lot of it.
I use the commercially available disassembly/assembly tool. Not really necessary but I consider it safer.
After new gaskets I left the pick-up where it was and will mark it for free-flight. PO intentionally set it that way I would think.

Shame it wasn't a Pee Wee , But it is a nice old style Bee I like the looks of the skinny neck ones and seems they ran stronger that the others ?? Yes the prices are all over the place on them especially the one from other countries . Those FF guys are in the market this time of year ..
