John Goddard wrote:All the other members that drink 15 pints of Guinness, whilst hanging upsidedown listening to Judas Preist played backwards
will no doubt already be aware of the following but just in case ,-
In 1945 Leroy Cox was approached by the US Government to set up a secret laboratory researching new technology.
He had the idea to create a toy making concern to hide what he was really up to.
Fortunately for us his 'sideline' was fairly successful too.
Without going in to too much detail (obviously this is all still classified) I'll tell you about one (or two) ideas he came up with.
Those of you who enjoy puzzles and languages will of course have long realized that Leroy M Cox Maunfacturing Co Inc when
translated into Serbo Croat then Chinese forms an anagram of 'I'm Dr Emmet Brown I'll be back from the future sometime'.
Also have non of you marvelled at the fact LMC dissappeared (sorry 'died') just 6 months after the first F117 Stealth flight?
Whilst working on stealth he constructed several models of the proposed craft and obviously he needed an engine to
power the thing. Enter the Cox FluxBeeCapteeacitordee/kingsnuclothespecial.
Early in development they could be seen by 'brighter' people but not by the masses.
The good news is twofold,-
1, LMC is going to return, a bit like the second coming only with more new model engines.
and
2, I can't fail to win this months EoTM.....
If there are any sceptics remaing among you check out the irrefutable proof below....
Obviously only those with high levels of intelligence might see the thing!
I see it! Right there! plain as day, behind the white sheet of card stock.
John Boy your a nut bar.........

The cutaway is done different on Tom's. Last months was half an engine this one has been milled by the looks of it.

I actually used a abrasive cut off wheel in a dremel and a barrel sander to smoothen everything rounden. I can actually engage the spring starter and itll spin and spin and spin and spin. I greased it with graphite and Prolong super lubricant

I may have to try to duplicate that! It'd make it a lot easier for me to explain the function of these things than my pencil doodles and hand motions !

Tim Wiltse mangusta DR?John Goddard wrote:But what am it?
Re: March Engine of the month submissions, post them here!
Yep. Tim Wiltse-built Mangusta DR .049. Rear rotary induction. Turbo plug head. Lots of neat machine work. After 3.5 years as a hangar queen, it's finally fulfilling it's duty as an aircraft engine.
About 3 minutes into the vid, she starts leaning out for a real nice run.

Reminds me of the Ace Simple 400 with a TD .049 I had back in the late 70's. Come to think of it, there is a box around somewhere with the gear from that era in my life. I bet the TD is in there... I'll have to hunt it down.
