I'm pretty sure the administrator is the only person who can view users IP addressses...
Re: OPERATION TUNGSTEN (TOP SECRET)
ISP addys are a large batch number Dave and are usually not shown due to privacy rights.
Once you select "I agree to join" box when registering, then that gives the admins and mods the right to view that and have it.
There are scanners you can download to show that,,but it's kind of a hacker thing, so I stay away from those.

Anyone have a comment? (I won't be offended if you disagree) Consider this a "learning moment".
Ok, Dave you asked for it!
I don't think the guy was a troll. I think he was a misguided fellow that had an unusual idea about how to post topics.
I agree they were hard to read and they were annoying. I don't know if I would have told him to snap out of it the way it was done as it was a tad rough especially for someone new who doesn't know the folks on the forums personalities.
However he could have just fell in line and changed his methods. Instead, he chose the easy way out.
When I first posted on this forum I thought you were kinda scary Dave but, I didn't let that put me off and I soon found out you are a straight to the point kind of guy. Once I knew that I was able to understand you more clearly.
This guy had no clue who we are so a more gentle approach may have worked better.
Just a thought.......
Please understand I am not attacking you or anyone else here for that matter. And if push came to shove I would back up anyone here in a second. You all are great and helpful bunch of guys. I just think a more relaxed approach might work better at getting new folks to fall in line. Sounds kinda funny seeing as i'm military and it doesn't work that way in my world.
You catch more flies with honey so the saying goes.
Exactly! I didn't think he was a troll! I did see it as a bit unusual but I could tell he was posting about a model. Yeah it was odd, once you read it several times you could tell he was trying to do it a different way. He has submitted a account closure form so you drove him off...

Jacob:
Do you want posters to come here to play games or engage in discussions about real things rather than fantasies? If the later what would you have this forum become?
Once again an introduction sets the stage for what is to come from a poster. Was this guy an experienced modeler of a beginner? Why should we indulge a "prankster" when he himself was probably laughing as he posted? He obviously spent a lot of time dreaming up his "Operation Tungstun" subterfuge why not spend time being less "creative" and getting to know us?
In the world in which I exist that's not only courtious but gentlemanly behavior or has than now become out of vogue in your world and associations?? The old saw "but things are worse elsewhare" holds absolutely no ground with me. What lame excuse to let things slide.

Re: OPERATION TUNGSTEN (TOP SECRET)
Dave, I would never discourage someone's positive creativity. Which in a way, it was positive.
Personally I think we were a little harsh. But yes, he could have introduced himself, and was rude leaving.

Well Hell,
I think we should hunt him down and kisk his ass. He is obviously diffeerent than us. I can not believe his nerve coming on the internet to a public forum and not just automatically falling in step with us. By the way, last time I fell in step I was wearing a uniform and carrying a rifle. If you do not like what you are hearing change the channel!
Sorry for the extreme nature of my post, but I think we did him wrong. I did not like the way he came in to the forum but I just "changed the station."
