Scratch build is usually cutting out separately bought pieces of basla and such to mimic the patterns on the separately purchased plans (if plans are used).
Kit build is the Lazer cut stuff that you snap out and start gluing, generally speaking.
Stick with the kit build stuff Travis,,for your first build. Most of the very hard work is done for you and you just follow the instructions as you go.
