Sunday Morning Coming Down

Sunday Morning Coming Down
I was going to post this under music videos but thought given the day and the cicumstances I would list it here.
Up at 5:30 this morning and out at 6:00 burning off green pine. Had to cut down a live one, wind pushed it at a 45 degree angle. Lot's of smoke when burning.
Watching it smoke Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Morning Coming Down" kept running through my head. Perhaps my favorite lament song.

Man some guys have all the toys and fun!! If I did that here the county would bring down the full force of their laws down on my head like a sledge hammer. What round for Tannerite?

I would think a well placed .223 or a casual 30/06 ought to do it.

That tractor was a smart purchase Bob. You are getting some good use out of it. I finally bought the starter for my 8N this past week. I also treated it to new points cap, rotor, wires and a new carb. Starts and runs great now. I needed to use it to lift a 302 Ford engine and place it outside.
Any round that travels 2000ft/s will work for tannerite.

Ford 8N was the first tractor I ever drove somewhere around 13/14. I used to water up a 250 gallon container on a trailer and ferry it out to the range to water chickens. Fun times. Servicing the other end of the chickens, not so much fun. Eggs and manure. 5000 per day the former, tons of the latter.

What's up with the 302? What Ford did to the 5.0 is impressive power wise. Way better than the old carbed 302s from my younger days.
The 5.0 even makes my pickup scat pretty good, it really gets up once its over 4K RPM. I drive around town in 2nd gear. But as soon as I really think I'm hauling the mail here comes that Little Nash Rambler. LOL

Well Mr.Cribbs. Your comment was too funny. I was also just going to say that teh tractor sure gets a workout. Definately a smart purchase that gets well used and maintained. Nice pictures to see the work it does.

My boy and I last month at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn. We stopped by after visiting my Mom across the border on Lake St. Clair.
It was actually his idea, one of the museum personnel offered to take our picture in the Overland.

The 302 is out of my sons Mustang. We pulled it to replace it with the low mile 302 in the 73 mustang parts car. A 351 is on the menu, but the 302 will work for now.
