Did Someone Say Castor?????
Well, it has been a very bad springtime here. Many things going on and such, weather and what not. I have honestly not done anything modelling related as time has just not yet permitted it. However, I have been doing a lot of work with my garden and such, even though I do not have anything other than peppers, of the hottest varieties.....
Anyways, I know our model engines like castor oil. For some reason, last week, on my book-of-face things started popping up on marketplace. First was Castor beans. Never thought of it before and did not know they were available. This past weekend, Castor Ben plants popped up! What gives. So Naturally, I was curious, and bought 2 plants today. Not exactly sure what I will do with them, but thought it was just too funny to pass up. Hopefully they will produce more beans so I can grow some more next year. The leaves on the plants do not look right to me yet, however the lady that I bought them from told me that the leaves do and will change shape. So fingers crossed things will work out in the end.
On another note, I have been busy with work and have a rather large project to do over the next few days, so my presence here will be down, but will still be checking in. Holidays in a coupel of weeks so hope to get back to normal and run some engines! Plus I have another new project to share, but will be after my work related project is done.....
P.S. The other is a prickly Pear Cactus that I also aquired today. Apparently they are native to me here and do grow wild and also tolerate our harsh winters, but this one will be living indoors.

Those look great. Hoping mine will grow at least so it may look like your pictures. I also like the beans around the quarter.

I think they grow pretty easy, there was one growing on it's own just at the back of our lot on the lake that somehow got there. It was pretty big, maybe because it was on Lake Erie with good moisture, and it is warm here. I washed may hands after handling the seeds because they are supposed to be poison. Ricin

Re: Did Someone Say Castor?????
I tried a castor bean plant several years back, but they started construction on a new house on the empty lot next door which quickly blocked the afternoon to evening sunlight to it... so it never got larger than about a foot and a half. I was hoping it would act as a deterrent to moles which were the worst on the side of the house. I spray 100% USP castor oil on the yard once I notice them and that seems to work. I like the smell of it too.
