Yes you are correct and understand, your the 1st person I have found in 2 weeks that has actually taken 1 apart I will take a couple pics and post and Thanks I really appreciate

ok, that helps. As I recall, you need to clean out all the old tire around the edges of the red band and rim as much as possible (I think I was finally able to get a screwdriver between the red band and the black half and pry it apart), once you do that the rim will split apart and you can install the new tire. Basically, rims compress back together and the red band is what is holding the two pieces together against the tire bead. Let me know how it goes…

COX Trike tire repair?
Patskih2o, If you do not mind me asking, where did you find your replacement tires for the trike? Mine looks about like yours did in the pictures!
