Cox Engine of The Month
Christmas Week
Christmas Week
Hello my friends. Although I'm relatively new to the group I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. No matter how old you are I hope you get a new toy. Everyone deserves a new toy once in a while and nothing could be better than a COX engine or something associated with it.

Same sentiments and wishes from my side...
Dick, I am still hoping that 1/2A Streaker will eventually land under my Christmas Tree...sadly, no idea of its whereabouts somewhere between Oklahoma and Budapest...

Re: Christmas Week
Merry Christmas guys. Ours is just about done. We opted for a Christmas Eve rather than Day due to arrangements to have our grandson over for the night. A four year old doesn't care if you celebrate Christmeas on the 24th or the 25th, so ours was all over with yesterday. One son is living a long way from us, so he didn't come home but opted to spend it with his partner's folks. Good luck to them. He's a cook and has a 5KG pork roast in the oven. YUMM!!
The other son cracked the sads and went home after a disagreement with his mother, so just the two of us.
Today (Chistmas day) sees the wife mowing the lawn and me washing the cars. Couldn't even go to church because of a late Christmas Eve shut down due to a Covid close contact last week. Strange times!
Hope it all works out better for the rest of you.
Rod.

Re: Christmas Week
Merry Christmas everyone!
No Cox stuff for me yet, but USPS tracking system tells that a package from Santa Phred has departed from JFK on Christmas Eve Santa Claus did get me a new Audio Technica cartridge for my turntable, so I guess I’ve been a good boy
Here’s a secret: As all Finns know, Santa Claus lives in Northern Finland, close to the Eastern border. There’s a mountain there called ”Korvatunturi” (look it up!), the direct translation of the name is ”Ear Mountain”. That’s how he knows what’s going on everywhere year round The story about North Pole is disinformation, meant to keep looters away. Just don’t tell anyone Who the heck would set up a large scale logistic operation on floating ice anyway? But that’s why we here in Finland and most of Scandinavia get our presents already on Christmas Eve, in the evening. Makes sense from the logistic point of view to start early and drop as much stuff as possible to first stops on the journey, to make the sleigh light for Rudolf and his colleagues, right?

Re: Christmas Week
I also got my presents from Santa yesterday despite the complete lack of snow here in Budapest, that must have made it a real burden for Rudolf to tow the sleigh on scratching asphalt...

Re: Christmas Week
I got some Cox presents from Canada today!! on Christmas day!!
amazing how we can get parts in Australia from anywhere in the world, China, Canada, Vietnam, UK, Spain,........ But nope we cannot get them from the USA via USPS since September the third. USPS says the problem is at Australia's end, but we are getting parts from everywhere else in the world and have been consistently through the whole Covid thing. Its not a big deal, but its made it near impossible to get parts economically to Oz from Matt and some other USA based parts suppliers since USPS banned Australia.
I wont say what I genuinely think about the USPS politics as it will upset most of the forum deeply!
Instead, I am very happy to have been able to deal with Bernie in Canada and get parts all through Covid, and I thank Matt for all of his efforts to help me out with different options and ways of doing things to get parts to me from the USA. Thank you both for supporting me to participate in the hobby I love.
All the best, have a great Christmas and a new year wherever you are and hopefully you will realise your dreams and aspirations next year and those around you will be as healthy and happy as can be.
Take it easy. Santa got here, so for those still waiting shouldnt be long now. Lol.

Re: Christmas Week
Maybe a consolation for you Yabby, but Hungary is now exception regarding elongated USPS delivery..A year ago it took 3 or so months for a small package from batjack then dispatched in Washington state to reach here. Dick Russ' 1/2A Streaker also has not made it to under my Xmas tree in 3 weeks already, despite USPS deliveries Dick says are taking around 9-10 days to other EU countries from the US...
Anyways, let's all enjoy Xmas!
