I guess so, Peter, I also have a couple vids on youtube with my COX powered RC planes, and if there is a wider interest among members here, maybe the CEF Homeshould have a separate entry for COX videos?

Vintage Class I Speed (British BMFA record holder at 88 MPH) Mini Speedster flown by Paul Gibeault
Here's a video of my winning Vintage Class I (British Rules) "Mini Speedster" powered by a Cox Black Widow upgraded with a Killer Bee crankshaft and Tee Dee .051 piston/cylinder ass'y burning 65% nitromethane fuel. Ground RPM is ~22,000. Current record holder at 88 MPH. Flown here at the Tournament of the Millennium in Evora, Portugal.
Shown here are both versions (RT) Original plan 8" span & (LF) the +130% increased 12" span. These tiny models with only a landing skid took quite a beating on the rough pavement!

Fantastic Paul, kudos, quite a testimony and feat you did, proving a Cox reedie can be in the winning circle.

Thanks for posting the videos Kim Big Otto is a plane I have kept looking and re-looking at on Outerzone and wondering what it might fly like as i really like the rather different and unusual design. Your video has shown that in the hands of a CL pilot with the required skill, the plane is very capable of flying in a manner I would like a model plane to fly in. Note. i do not claim to have the required skill, but knowing and seeing the plane perform as it did in the video, at least I know the plane is good for it.
My real question probably seems rather inane but what length lines were you using in the video please? I am definately building myself a Big Otto and have printed the plans from Outerzone and cut the tiled plan trims and sticky taped them together, and copied the traced out ribs etc. so as that i can build this jigger. It has jumped to the top of the Queue ( even bumping the repairs to my Lads last crashed plane down the queue ). Ive even found a leading edge in my home balsa stock the right size which is telling me I should build a Big Ottto
Did you make any mods/changes from the Outerzone plans ( that you know of ) to the Big Otto in the Video, that I should incorporate into my build please? Any advice / thoughts from flying the Big Otto greatly appreciated. I am planing on putting a TD 049 up front, the only trick with that for me might be fitting the fuel tank as per the plans and keeping the CG as indicated. I wont be using a wheel/undercarriage, though that probably wont make much difference to CG.

Re: "VIDEO CORNER" , vid´s about all COXees
just did a search of the forum on Big Otto. found heaps of stuff from Kim and Ken and others on building, flying and modding big Otto. now im even more enthusiastic about build myself a Big Otto(s). My only concern is CG. I want to use a 3/4 oz tank and that wont fit in the plan. hmmm some give and take mods here. Tank in wing, shorten nose fuse, ply for tail formers, no wheel, might be around the mark I hope. I guess I can always use weight if needed. Seems everyone found 35 foot lines to be the minimum for it. thats is very good, as maybe with a hot TD I can get to 42 foot and get some extra sky. Sometimes I really need the extra sky.
