Neat video Shawn, thanks for posting it.
Probably the toughest workout any Bee
engine will ever see, is in the SkiDoo.

I had better snow conditions the last time I ran mine. They run pretty good.

I was wondering how they would run in a powder, or at lest unpacked snow.jsesere wrote:I had better snow conditions the last time I ran mine. They run pretty good.
Under ideal conditions these things must be a blast to run.

Re: Cox Ski Doo
Best I could do in Oregon was a couple of inches of fresh snow in a parking lot. It runs great on cut grass at the local park.

Re: Cox Ski Doo
In the JAN 1975 edition of MAN, there is an article of an RC converted Cox Ski Doo. I remember that Ken, of Barbie pédigree, was used as a driver. He had the receiver on his back under his clothes.
I had this magazine years ago but lost it. Maybe someone might still have it?

Cox Ski Doo and Video
Whats up Guys?? The cox Ski Doo is really a Masterpiece all by Itself not to mention all the other cox Gas powered toys. I am the guy on the you tube video running the Ski Doo, Courtesy of my friend Jonathan of R/C Grabag. I remember seeing the Ski doo on the shelf at Penn Valley Hobby Center in Lansdale Pa back in 73 or 74?? I still have this Ski Doo from the video and another one new in the box. What really compliments My Story is around 3 or 4 years ago I Met a Guy named Glen Bolton and he told Me the Story. Evidently, some of the Cox Employees flew up to Canada to Bombardier and convinced them to purchase XX amounts of these Models to give to Customers that bought the full size 1973 Silver bullet 440 Ski doo sleds as a promotional, However, just as Morris Leventhal said, the Ski doo never went over that well and I believe it was only produced for one Year. I feel that the chassis of this model should have been made in Silver nylon instead of flimsy styrene plastic. Who Knows, maybe someday I will have a toolmaker reproduce the chassis and body parts. Even though the Cox Ski doo remains Elusive, there are still some good examples that come up Occasionally. There were 2 Prototypes on the east Coast USA some years back and perhaps they are still out there. Glen Bolton told Me that He has a Original video of the cox Ski doo running at the tennis Courts around Big Bear Mountain in California, Will we ever see it? Press on!!
